One of the successful songs of the 60s, Paper Roses, was given away to music lovers by Marie Osmond. She is an accomplished American singer, puppet designer, actress, television personality, and entrepreneur.
Here you can learn more about her in terms of her biography, family, finances, and whether she kicked the bucket or not.
Marie Osmond’s Bio (Age)
Marie Osmond was born in Ogden, Utah on October 13, 1959, the youngest child and only daughter of Olive May (mother) and the nine children of George Virl Osmond. She and her eight brothers (Virl, Tom, Alan, Wayne, Merrill, Jay, Donny, and Jimmy Osmond) were raised as Christians in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
At a young age, the Osmonds learned about music and spent hours memorizing scripts, learning and practicing new dance steps, playing musical instruments, singing, and learning to sing in foreign languages when they went on tour abroad. By this time, some of the older brothers had already formed a music group called the “Osmond Brothers”, and it was not long before the youngest Osmond, Marie, joined her brothers on stage singing.
She gained immediate fame after the release of Paper Roses, her first single as a solo artist. The cover song became an undisputed hit across the country, reaching the top 5 pop charts of Billboard magazine and achieving crossover success. Every song of hers and the single that followed her first release impressed no less than her first work.
This Is The Way That I Feel, her fourth studio album, took a different approach than her earlier works, which were mainly covers of popular songs. She ventured more into pop music but did not have much commercial success with it. However, she returned to country music by signing a contract with Capital and Curb Records, and her songs again reached high charts.
She made her television debut in 1975 when she and her brother Donny Osmond hosted the Donny & Marie show, which ran on ABC until 1978 when it was renamed The Osmond Family Hour. She has her own vaudeville show on television called Marie, in addition to a number of other shows in which she has appeared. She made her film debut in the movie Hugo the Hippo.
Marie Osmond’s career has made her a wealthy woman who can afford the luxury. Online sources revealed that she is worth up to $20 million.
Family – Husband, Children
Many celebrities divorce and remarry, but not many of them divorce and remarry the same person they fell in love with before. Marrie Osmond braved all odds, having been married three times to two men.
In 1979, she had started dating Jeff Clayton, and even got engaged to him earlier in 1979. By July 1979 she understood that marriage was too big an institution to commit to in life without being completely sure she was ready for it. Clayton seemed to have shared the same concern with her, and they canceled their relationship and their impending marriage.
Marie Osmond later met Stephen Lyle Craig, the basketball player from Brigham Young University, who fell in love with him and was convinced of it when she married him on June 26, 1982. Their marriage resulted in the birth of their only child, Stephen James Craig, on April 20, 1983. As fate would have it, they were divorced in October 1985, and the reason for this is still unknown.
Brian Blosil became the second man she was married to. They were married on October 28, 1986, at the Jordan River Temple in Utah. Marie Osmond and Brian Biosil had two children together. The first was named Rachael Lauren, born on August 19, 1989, the second Mathew Richard, born on June 6, 1998. In addition to these two, they adopted five other children, bringing their total number of children to seven. The names of these adopted children were given as Jessica Marie; born 17 December 1987, Michael Bryan; born 4 May 1991, but he later died 26 February 2010. Brandon Warren became their third adopted child; he was born in November 1996. His adoption was followed by that of Brianna Patricia and Abigail Oliver May, born on 19 November 1997 and 5 September 2002 respectively.
Sadly, the love between Marie and Brian ended with their divorce on 30 March 2007.
It was only four years later that Marie Osmond did what was rarely done. She remarried her first husband Stephen Craig on May 4, 2011, in a small ceremony in the temple of Las Vegas Nevada. She wore the same wedding dress that she had won in her first marriage. It is known that the two are still together and it is possible that they will continue to be together.
Is she Dead or Alive
Married Osmond is still alive, but a part of her died in a very painful and sad way. One of her adopted sons – Michael with her second husband Blosil, who at that time had just begun to make good in his music career, committed suicide by jumping from his home. It was discovered that before his suicide he had left a note saying that he felt alienated from his adoptive father Bryan Blosil, who had not spoken to him for a long time. Perhaps there is more to it than that, but neither Blosil nor his former wife commented on the underlying reasons why their son decided to kill himself.
