It is becoming increasingly rare to find glamorous women in show business who choose a rather quiet life without much noise and drama in and around their lives. Apart from a publication in the 90s that suggests an affair, Markie Post is a lady who has managed her public profile quite well.
Markie Post Biography
She was born as Marjorie Armstrong Post but was later to become known more as Markie Post. Markie was born on November 4, 1950, in Palo Alto, California. Probably one of the factors that influenced her into the art of film was the fact that her mother, Marylee Post, was a poet. Her father, however, Richard F. Post, was a nuclear physicist. Markie has two siblings – Rodney Post and Stephen Post.
She and her siblings grew up at Stanford and Walnut Creek. She attended high school at Las Lomas High School, and during her time there, like most students, she was involved in extracurricular activities and stood out because she was on the school’s cheerleading team.
After moving to Portland, Oregon, she attended Lewis & Clark College; she also spent a short time at Pomona College. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in art. Before acting, Markie served on numerous game shows as part of her production teams. It wasn’t a career move that would seem natural for an aspiring talent with dreams to make it big in Hollywood. As time will show, it seems that her involvement in-game shows has helped her with valuable experience.
She was part of Tom Kennedy’s Split Second. She also worked as an assistant producer of Alex Trebek’s Double Dare. As she became more and more popular, she appeared as a celebrity guest performer on several game shows, including Pyramid and Password.
Markie Post is proud to be very family-oriented. Apart from her parents and siblings, she has been married twice, first in 1971 with her college heartthrob Stephen Knox. Strangely enough, they were divorced on September 5, 1972.
Later she fell in love with Michael A. Ross, who is a producer and writer. Ross is the producer of hits like Rules of Engagement (2007), Better Off Ted (2009) and Kirk (1995). Micheal and Markie were married on February 7, 1982, and have two daughters, Katie Ross and Daisy Ross. Once there were rumors that she had an affair with former American President Bill Clinton.
