‘Married at First Sight’ Couples That Haven’t Divorced Yet

Married At First Sight is a reality TV show that aims at helping young people find love in an unconventional manner. The usual story told by married couples involves how they met, dated and wedded. However, in this series, two persons who might or might not have known each other prior to the show (but most definitely haven’t dated) are paired by relationship experts. Prior to the show, the couples agree to get married as the show commences.

The relationship and communication experts on this show include Dr. Joseph Cilona, Dr. Logan Levkoff, Dr. Pepper Schwartz, Greg Epstein, Calvin Roberson, and Rachel DeAlto. Despite the expertise of these professionals, their pairing has faltered severally when these couples opt-out of their 6-8 weeks trial-marriage.

The shows first season premiered on July 8, 2014. At the end of the first season, three couples got hitched out of which only one of them is still together – and even share a child now. The second season came with its own mixture of drama and entertainment. So also did the following 7 seasons. A 10th season is being produced currently and an 11th is expected to premiere in 2020. Below is a list of MAFS couples that have gone on to build lasting married lives and are still together now – years after their time on the show.

Here are Married at First Sight’ Couples That Haven’t Divorced Yet

So far on the 9 seasons the MAFS TV show (since it first premiered in 2014), about 29 marriages have been contracted. And of that number, only eight of those marriages are still together – at least for now.

1. Jamie Otis and Doug Hehner

Jamie and Doug were one of the paired couples in the pilot season of this reality show. They are also the only couple out of the 3 paired on the season to still be married. Jamie was a nurse when she came on the show. She also had a track record of being on other matchmaking shows such as The Bachelor and Bachelor Pad. She appeared on the 16th season of the Bachelor, where she fought for Ben Flajnik but lost the battle as she was eliminated in 7th place. She was also eliminated in the 4th episode of the Bachelor Pad.

Luckily for her, she found love on Married At First Sight. After the 8-week trial marriage, she and software salesman, Doug Hehner decided to remain married. They have appeared on the show’s spin-offs such as Married At First Sight: First Year and Jamie and Doug Plus One. The latter x-rayed their lives as new parents who are trying to keep the intimacy in their marriage while taking care of their daughter, Hennel.

2. Ashley Petta and Anthony D’Amico

Another marriage from this reality show that hasn’t hit the rocks yet is that of bar and grill manager, Ashley Petta and sale account executive, Anthony D’Amico. The couple appeared on the 5th season of the show that premiered in October 2016. After agreeing to stay together after the trial period, they have been happily married ever since. The couple was featured on Married at First Sight: Happily Ever After? 3 years later, on January 12, the couple welcomed their first child, Mila Rose. Ashley described her as being perfect in every way.

3. Shawniece Jackson and Jephte Pierre

The marriage between Shawniece and Jephte like any other marriage has had its ups and downs. However, the couple has been able to weather the storms and are still married to each other. After saying yes on the show’s sixth season decision day, the couple went on to live together. Their marriage has resulted in the birth of their first child, Laura Denise. Laura was born in August 2018. The couple has also been reported to have bought their first home.

4. Danielle Bergman and Bobby Dodd

One of MAFS’s favorite couples is still together and waxing strong. Danielle and Bobby were paired in the 7th season of the show and while Danielle is a software saleswoman, Bobby is a construction project manager. In October 2018, they announced that Danielle was pregnant and she gave birth to Olivia Nicole in 2019. The couple was also featured on Married At First Sight: Happily Ever After?

5. AJ Vollmoeller and Jasmine McGriff

Season 8 was a special year as two couples remained together past the trial period and are still married today. One of the couples is president of staffing and recruiting company, AJ Vollmoeller and assistant director, Jasmine McGriff.  The love birds recently celebrated their one year anniversary in August 2019.

6. Kristine Killingsworth and Keith Dewar

The second couple from season 8 is Kristine Killingsworth and Keith Dewar. This couple has stayed together so far and they hope to see more years together. They struggled with gender roles and expectations at the beginning but managed to sort things out and remain strong for their marriage. They will be considering having children in the next few years, for now, they have some personal goals to accomplish.

7. Jamie Thompson and Elizabeth Bice

The 9th season of the Married At First Sight TV show included four couples. Two of which found a love worth fighting for and decided to stay together. Jamie and Elizabeth’s relationship after the cameras stopped rolling has proven to be a strong and healthy one. They both admit to care and love each other so much. Elizabeth is an accountant executive while Jamie works for an unnamed company as a financial operator.

8. Deonna McNeill and Gregory Okotie

The last couple on our list is Deonna McNeill and Gregory Okotie. It is too early to make predictions over this marriage but so far it seems to be going well. They have just spent a couple of months together as a married couple. Deonna and Gregory are one of the loveliest couples to appear on the show. They have also been the couple with the least drama or issues. Together they have worked to make their marriage work.
