He was born on June 27, 1985, in Anchorage, Alaska to his parents. Sensmeier was far from the acting profession while in high school. He was instead more inclined to the technical side of life. At the time of his high school, he was into welding and was very good at it. He soon became a certified welder and worked as a professional for various clients.

But beneath his profession was a burning desire for acting. Before he ventured into the acting field, he worked on an oil rig for Doyon Drilling as he looked out for on-screen opportunities. Sooner than later, Sensmeier quit his job and moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in acting.

While in Los Angeles, he worked as a model for different companies while he sought acting roles. Sensmeier soon got a role in the movie, Encounter.
