The budding star became well known among TV audiences when he played a recurring guest role as Garrett on the MTV hit series, Teen Wolf. He featured in another MTV teen series, Finding Carter, and has also starred in numerous telefilms as well as web series. Mason Dye Biography
Mason Dye was born on the 15th day of the month of July in the year 1994. He was born in Shawnee, a city in Pottawatomie County, Oklahoma. However, he was raised in the city of Ada in Pontotoc County, also in Oklahoma. He has two siblings, an older brother named Preston as well as a younger sister named Taylor.
His acting career began officially in the year 2013. His first acting job was on the comedy film, Adventures of Bailey: A Night in Cowtown (2013), in which he played the supporting role as Marc. His next job was on the web series, Secret Diary of an American Cheerleader 2: The Fierce One, in which he portrayed Brandon.
Dye marked his small-screen debut when he played the role of Christopher Dollanganger in the made-for-TV movie, Flowers in the Attic (2014), based on a 1979 novel of the same name. He made a guest appearance on the comedy series Review (2014) and afterward, he played the recurring role of Garrett on the supernatural series, Teen Wolf (2014). He got even more screen time the following year when he portrayed the recurring character, Damon, on the teen drama series, Finding Carter (2015). The talented actor equally had a starring role in the thriller film My Stepdaughter (2015).
In the year 2016, he appeared in two feature films; he played the lead role of Tyler in the thriller film Natural Selection (2016) and also played the major role of Josh Jackson in the action flick, Vanished – Left Behind: Next Generation (2016). Mason Dye has recorded numerous small-screen credits in recent times. He played the role of Bruce Kane in the thriller telefilm, Stalker’s Prey (2017), and in the horror telefilm Truth or Dare (2017), he portrayed the character Tyler Pemhardt. He appeared in another thriller made-for-TV movie, The Wrong Son (2018), starring Matt. In 2019, the actor landed the recurring role of Tom on the 5th season of the long-running crime series, Bosch.
His Siblings and Family
Apparently, Mason Dye is not the only member of his family who is involved in show business. His sister Taylor Dye is a singer, songwriter, and guitarist based in Nashville, Tennessee and she makes up one half of the country music duo, “Maddie & Tae”. The other half of the duo is a fellow country singer and songwriter, Madison Marlow.
Maddie & Tae first came together in 2010 and they are signed to Mercury Nashville. The duo released their self-titled debut EP Maddie & Tae in November 2014 which went on to top music charts in the US. Their highly successful debut album, Start Here, was released in August 2015 under Dot Records. The duo also released their second EP One Heart to Another in April 2019.
As expected, Mason Dye and his sister Taylor are both very supportive of each other’s careers. The actor starred in the music video of the 2015 single “Shut Up and Fish” by Maddie & Tae.
