The MLB star was born Matthew James Adams on 31 August 1988 in Philipsburg, Pennsylvania. Here he was raised by his parents, Jamie Adams and Lisa Adams.

He attended Philipsburg-Osceola High School and from there he moved to Slippery Rock University, popularly known as the “Big City”.

Having remained with the Cardinals since 2012, he was transferred to the Atlanta Braves in 2017 for Juan Yepez, who will play in the Minor League as an infielder in 2017. Adams was not allowed to play for the Braves for a long time as he soon moved to the Washington Nationals after signing a contract that would keep him on the team for a year.

The nickname “Big City” was given to the first baseman when he was with the St. Louis Cardinals after his teammates had been looking for a name for him before someone yelled at him during a game.

In 2015 he married his then-girlfriend Carina Josephine Struble (now Carina Adams). She earned a law degree from Widener University, which she completed as a paralegal.

Not many people were invited to the wedding, which was a very private event, and there are no pictures of it in public.

As mentioned above, Adams was given the name Big City because of his height. He is a man of height and thanks to his training he is athletically built. Expressed in numbers, he stands at a height of 6 feet 4 inches with a bodyweight of 245lb (190cm, 111kg).
