Mel B’s Relationship Timeline In A Nutshell

Our very own Scary Spice seems to have a crazy amount of drama going when it comes to her love life and today we get to dip into that by checking out Mel B’s relationship timeline. Let’s see where it went wrong or right for the pop star… we mean, three kids with different father’s there has got to be some sort of explanation behind that and we are going to find it out.

Mel B’s Relationship Timeline

Needless to say, the star has had many dramatic relationships in her day, so let’s check that all out, was it her? Was it them? What really went wrong along the line. It’s all in here.

Mel B’s Relationship; Jimmy Gulzar (1998 – 2000)

To think this was just the beginning, of all the crazy in her relationships; it was the classic tale of ‘girl meets back up dancer, girl falls in love with and marries back up dancer’. This is just a side note, but we would love to know who this has ever worked for? Britney? J.Lo? Anyone? This right here is a cautionary tale, depending on how you see it.

The two met during the Spiceworld tour in 1998 and they have married shortly after, the marriage lasted two years and the only thing they seem to have in common these days is their 18-year-old daughter, Phoenix Chi Gulzar. Needless to say, their marriage crashed and burned, there was even a gruesome custody battle at some time.

That was when he came out saying that his marriage with the star made him want to kill himself, he also said that he cannot wait for karma to hit her hard, we believe these were his exact words, ‘ I always think about Goliath facing David, that story is pretty much how I have always felt. I am still that one rock that will get Goliath down.’

Well, he must be pretty thrilled with her present predicament, but that’s a story for another subheading… sit tight.

Mel B’s Relationship; Eddy Murphy (2006)

This was another tricky one and very high profile too, it was a hard 9 months in 2007 for Mel B when she came out with ‘claims’ that the baby she was carrying indeed was fathered by Eddie Murphy. It must have been a giant slap on her face when he denied that he was the father and wouldn’t acknowledge anything till a paternity test proved otherwise.

These words actually came out of his mouth, ‘ I don’t know whose child that is until it comes out and has a blood test.’ The whole thing even turned her off men as a whole, so yeah she took a dip in the lady pool. She was with a woman for four years, it took, her currently estranged husband, Stephen’s good loving to ‘convert’ her completely back to the guy pool.

These days, the rift between Murphy and the star has been mended, she supported him being in his daughter’s life from the onset. She told The Guardian Weekend in 2014, ‘ We go over there as a family, we have dinners together, everything is fine … now. He’s a great guy.’ We are glad that all ended well.

Mel B’s Relationship; Stephen Belafonte (2007-2017)

We bet they thought they would be together forever at some point, but this relationship actually just recently crashed itself. Well, I guess it’s a gigantic red flag when your whole family does not approve of the man you want to marry and that is what happened with Mel B, she cut ties with her family including her mother in 2008 when they disapproved of her marriage to film producer Stephen.

We wonder what it is that they did not approve of, the hurried Vegas wedding or the year-long domestic violence program he had to complete for lashing out at his ex-wife Nicole. They seemed pretty fine last year, so it took everyone by surprise when Mel B filed divorce papers listing their date of separation as December 28, 2016, citing irreconcilable differences.

She also asked for joint legal and physical custody of their daughter and in addition to that, she requested for her spousal support to Stephen to be terminated. Well, we don’t know if this is just bad luck with men or the karma that her first husband spoke of, but we do wish her all the best through this trying time.
