The Swedish-American movie star was born on March 3, 1983, in Linkoping, a city in Southern Sweden. She grew up with her Persian father, mother, and one sister in the Ryd Linkoping neighborhood in Sweden. Her family relocated to America when Mercedes was 12 years old and they lived in Chicago. While in High School her distinctively tall height led her to be signed on to the Ford Modelling agency.

Mercedes Mason graduated from High School and went on to study psychology in college. While in college she won an uncredited role in the romantic comedy film, The Break-Up. There, she appeared alongside top stars such as Jennifer Aniston and Vince Vaughn. From 2005 to 2006 she made her debut in the ABC TV show, One Life to Live taking the role of a Red Cross Nurse appearing in three episodes.

After acting in two uncredited roles in films like Now and Nowhere (2008) and Red Sands (2009), Mercedes Mason got her big break in a starring role in the 2011 horror film Quarantine 2: Terminal. In the movie, she starred as Jenny with Bre Blair, Josh Cooke, and Mattie Liptak. In the same year, she portrayed the role of Leila in the award-winning film, Three Veils.

From 2009 to 2010 Mercedes acted in four episodes of the TV show Three Rivers as Vanessa. She made guest appearances in Castle as Marina Casillas and All Signs of Death in Soledad and Traffic Light as Sherry. Mercedes became famous for her role in the action-comedy show Chuck where she starred alongside Zachery Levi, Adam Baldwin, Yvonne Strahovski, and Joshua Gomez. She shared the lead actress role with Maddie Hasson in the drama TV series The Finder in 2012. She later became the series regular portraying Deputy U.S. Marshal Isabel Zambada alongside Geoff Stults, Toby Hemingway, and Michael Clarke Duncan. Mercedes Mason’s parents were Iranian emigrants in Sweden before they moved to America with their two daughters. The actress is a polyglot; she is fluent in English, French, Persian, and Spanish. Mason confessed in an interview with Skavlan in September 2016, that she no longer speaks Swedish but still understands. In April 2016 she applied and passed her U.S. citizenship test and became an American-Sweden citizen.

Mercedes married fellow actor and boyfriend David Deman in a private ceremony with friends and family on September 13, 2014. Nothing much is known about her husband. However, the couple welcomed their son Caius Kane on January 10, 2018.
