Michael Bettes (Mike Bettes) is a native of Tallmadge, Ohio, U.S, he was born there on the 9th of January in the year 1972 into an American family. Mike was raised in his birthplace by his parents alongside his sister. As a young boy, he enjoyed sitting with his father in their garage and enjoy the sounds and sights of thunderstorms rolling across their neighborhood. At other times, he would be found indoors with his sister watching Dick Goddard; the Cleveland meteorologist as he forecasts the weather outlook for the day. With all these, his interest, fascination, and passion with meteorology became ingrained in him.

Following his high school graduation and having shown that he was good with maths and sciences, Mike Bettes proceeded to study Atmospheric Sciences at Ohio State University. He graduated sometime in the mid-90s from the college and afterward kick-started his career as a weatherman.

Michael’s first recorded place of work was on WSYX, a channel affiliated to ABC where he worked as a weekend meteorologist. Later on, he did the same job at a Fox-affiliated television station called WTTE. By 1998, Mike Bettes began working with WLOS and during his time here, he rose to the position of a Chief Meteorologist and this prepared him for bigger roles ahead by the time he left the station in 2003.

Mike’s next place of work became The Weather Channel and he has worked in various capacities in this station. He served as a weather field reporter from 2003 to 2006 before he became a co-host on Abrams & Bettes: Beyond the Forecast. His co-hosting roles on the show lasted till 2009 when he began working in a similar capacity on Weather Center Live.

In this same year, the American meteorologist began working as a segment correspondent and fill-in anchor on Wake Up With Al in addition to being a co-host of Your Weather Today. Between 2012 to 2014, Mike co-hosted the Morning Rush show while from March 2014 to January 2015, he co-hosted America’s Morning Headquarters.
