To a family grounded in the Roman Catholic faith, the comedian was born on March 26, 1974, in Rockford, Illinois. Natasha Leggero has both Italian and Swedish descent and according to a DNA test, 6% of Sub-Saharan African ancestry exists in her. She left the Catholic faith which she grew up with for Judaism when she became an adult.
Her childhood wasn’t spent on a bed of roses, especially after her parents – her father who worked as a used car dealer, and her mother who had a job as a bookkeeper in a locksmith shop, called time on their marriage. Her parents’ divorce made life harder for Natasha who took up several menial jobs to survive.
She studied at Rockford East High School and was already performing in plays by the time she turned 10. Natasha furthered her education at Illinois State University from where she auditioned for the Stella Adler Conservatory in Chicago. She also attended Hunter College and finished with a B.A. in Theater Criticism in 2000.
