Born in Lagos, Nigeria on May 24, 1993, Nelson Agholor is the fourth child of five children born to Caroline and Felix Agholor. His dad, Felix was a soccer player back in Nigeria and he moved his family to the United States when Nelson was just five years old. Nelson has four siblings – two brothers and two sisters. His full name is Nelson Efamehule Agholor. When the Agholors moved to the States, they lived in a three-bedroom home in Florida which meant Nelson shared a room with his elder brothers.
He attended Berkeley Preparatory School in Tampa, Florida. At Berkeley, Nelson played as running back, wide receiver, and also as a defensive back for the Berkeley Buccaneers. College selection came and Agholor chose the University of Southern California in January 2012. Other institutions interested in him included Oklahoma, Alabama, Notre Dame, Florida, and Florida State.
Upon his arrival at USC in 2012, Nelson played 13 games that year, he recorded 19 receptions for 340 yards and 2 touchdowns as a backup wide receiver. In 2013, he became a starter playing all 14 games of that year – he recorded 56 receptions for 918 yards and six touchdowns. 2014 was even a better year as he accumulated 104 receptions for 1,313 yards and 12 touchdowns. Agholor was selected in the first round with the 20th overall pick by the Philadelphia Eagles during the 2015 NFL Draft. The contract he later signed with the side in May 2015 was worth around $9.4 million with a signing bonus of $5.1 million.
His first NFL career touchdown came in a match against the Buffalo Bills and, Nelson Agholor has been one of the players that have consistently improved their game.
