She was not always this famous, she started her singing career with The Young Americans, a performing group based in California where she was born. Nia who was raised in West Covina was born Virenia Gwendolyn on December 10, 1961, in Hollywood to her parents Elizabeth Joan (née Rubic), her mother, and Robert Eugene Peeples, her father. For Nia, it was a matter of passion as well as an inborn talent as she took after her mother – a flamenco dancer.
Her inclination to music was further nurtured when she joined The Young Americans. The group brought out the very best in Peeples whose exceptional talent pushed to Number 1 on the Hot Dance Music/Club Play chart. The once blissful marriage suffered trials in 2015 when Peeples filed for divorce from George. Days before their eighth wedding anniversary, the singer and actress, filed to end the marriage on grounds of irreconcilable differences.
