Nicholas Braun has given us some nice Disney movies to remember, from Sky High (2005) where he played Zachary Braun aka Zach Attack down to Prom (2011). He plays those high school/college characters really well, doesn’t he? Since scoring his breakthrough in 2005, Braun has done a nice job keeping his career sky-high. Here goes his story…
Nicholas Braun Bio (Age, Family And Other Background Information)
Nicholas Joseph Braun was born on May 1, 1988, in Bethpage, New York to a 49-year-old father Craig Braun, and mother, Elizabeth Lyle. At the age of 4, his parents divorced, but Braun continued to nurture a relationship with both parents.
He has a brother named Christopher Deyo Braun, a musician (they are very close) as well as two half-brothers; actor Guillaume Rumiel and producer Timothy Braun.
It’s not a surprise that acting runs in Braun’s family as his father always nurtured a passion for the craft. However, he never really got mainstream with it. Craig Braun had worked a corporate job all his life and waited until the age of 54 to pursue his passion for acting.
If anything, it came at the right time. Nicholas who was just a kid at the time developed a passion for acting from watching his dad prepare scenes for his acting class and would sometimes help him memorize his lines.
At the age of 13, Nicholas began acting, making his debut in the TV film Walter and Henry. A year before his high school graduation from Massachusetts’ St. Mark’s School in 2006, Braun landed his big break with Sky High. This opened his Disney film accounts that soon included; Minutemen, Princess Protection Program, Prom and more.
Before getting his first main small screen gig in ABC’s 10 Things I Hate About You, Braun had small roles in Without a Trace, Shark, and others.
His other noteworthy films include The Perks of Being a Wallflower, Poltergeist, and The Year Of Spectacular Men.
Girlfriend, Gay
Nicholas Braun is one of those guys whose sexual orientation has given the media a lot to speculate about. When it comes to his romantic life, Braun never really gives anything away to the media.
Back in 2009, during his days on ABC’s 10 Things I Hate About You, Braun had very admirable chemistry with his on-screen match-up, Meaghan Martin.
Braun himself confirmed the existence of chemistry between them in his interview with Seventeen. However, off-set the pair was never a thing and at that time, Braun was single but ready to mingle.
He plainly spelled it out to Seventeen that he wanted a girlfriend and that “It would be nice to have someone to go back to, a girl to call at the end of the night after a long day.”
Well, two things are the case here, it is either Braun never got to find that girl, as he wasn’t linked with anyone OR he did, but just decided to shroud it all in secret.
As it has come to be the norm with celebrities who don’t showcase any opposite sex with whom they are romantically involved, Braun has been plagued by gay rumors. But as we have come to discover, not flaunting a girl you’re with doesn’t always mean you’re gay and constantly posting pictures of yourself with females (for the guys) doesn’t rule out the fact that you may not be straight.
For Braun, he has posted several pictures of himself with ladies and fans are always quick to bombard him with questions like “Are You Guys Dating?” but typical of Braun, he never replies to those comments.
About the gay rumors, Braun added a truckload of fuel to it when he posted a picture of himself locking lips with his best friend Christopher Mintz Plasse.
He captioned it; “ALL LOVE IS GOOD LOVE. Fuck all of the hatred in our world right now. Check the hands tho.” As expected, the post sent his Instagram page ablaze with fans expressing their shock at the conclusion that he was gay while others simply admired the photo.
In a twist of things, Mintz-Plasse, the guy he was kissing in the photo, is believed to have a girlfriend. So? There is a lot to conclude from this, it is either Braun and Mintz-Plasse were only showing their support for gay people or there is a possibility that they are really gay or maybe bisexual.
Until Braun chooses to spell out the truth himself, we will all be left to mere speculations.
He does have nice chemistry with ladies though. Thrice, he has co-starred with Dakota Johnson (Yeah the one from Fifty Shades) and they do quite a good job especially in How to Be Single (2016). They have natural chemistry and were even once rumored to be dating, but there’s nothing here, Braun and Johnson are really just good friends.
