Nikki Sixx has been described as one of the wildest music artists of his generation due to his gothic looks and hardcore sounds. Popularly, he is known as the main songwriter, bassist and co-founder of the band called, Mötley Crüe, through which timeless albums such as Too Fast for Love in 1981, Shout at the Devil in 1983, among others have been released. More so, he functions as a photographer and radio host on the side. In 2006, “Royal Underground,” which is his clothing line was formed in partnership with Kelly Gray, the former home model and co-president of St.John. Nikki Sixx – Bio, Age

Nikki Sixx was born Frank Carlton Serafino Feranna, Jr. in San Jose, California, on the 11th of December 1958. From his father’s side, he has an Italian lineage. He had a bittersweet childhood as he was raised by his mother, Deana Richards and partially by his grandparents. This was due to the fact that his father left when he was still very young.  Soon, his mother also abandoned him leaving him in the care of his grandparents fulltime. He had a sister named Lisa Feranna who had Down syndrome. Unfortunately, she died in 2000. Nikki also has two half-siblings, Ceci and Anthony Feranna.

Sixx fell in love with music at a young age and some of his favorite music artist at the time include The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, , Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, Harry Nilsson, and Queen. Later on, he came to really like  Slade, T. Rex, and .

Career

By the time Nikki Sixx was 17 years of age, he moved out of his mum’s house in Seattle to live in Los Angeles. While he was there, he went for various auditions while supporting himself with menial jobs like selling vacuum cleaners through his phone and working at a liquor store. Fortunately, he was got accepted to join the ‘Sister’ band which was headed by Blackie Lawless. He was later fired after he recorded just a demo with the band. In the year 1978, Nikki formed the band named, London with Grey, a former bandmate at Sister. It was during this period that he changed his name from Frank Feranna to Nikki Sixx. Together with his band mate and singer, Nigel Benjamin, London released a 16-track demo in Burbank.

In 1981 Nikki disbanded the group to form another band named, Mötley Crüe, with the help of drummer, . The band had singer, Vince Neil, and guitarist, , to make up the band. Together, they released 9 albums including; Too Fast for Love (1981), Shout at the Devil (1983), Theatre of Pain (1985), Girls, Girls, Girls (1987), Dr. Feelgood (1989), Mötley Crüe (1994), Generation Swine (1997), New Tattoo (2000), and Saints of Los Angeles (2008).

So far, Nikki Sixx’s band, Mötley Crüe, is rated among the highest selling bands of all time with over 100 million record sales worldwide. However, the group went on hiatus in 2017 which saw later members of the band like James Michael and DJ Ashba starting off a new band called Pyromantic.

Spouse or Wife and Kids

Nikki Sixx has been involved with quite a number of women in his lifetime. His first publicly known relationship was in 1987 with a woman named Denise Matthews a.k.a “Vanity.” According to him, Denise was more of a pleasure and drug buddy who taught him how to freebase after he had been mostly used to snorting or injecting.

After their brief stint ended, Nikki began dating Playboy Playmate, Brandi Brandt. They both tied the knot in May 1989 and welcomed three children; Gunner Nicholas Sixx, born on the 25th of January 1991, Storm Brieann Sixx, born on the 14th of April 1994, and Decker Nilsson Sixx, born on the 23rd of May 1995. A year after their third child was born, in November 1996, Nikki and Brandi got divorced.

Interestingly, one month after his divorce with his first wife, Nikki walked down the aisle with Donna D’Errico who also happened to be a Playboy Playmate and actress. Before they met, Donna had also been in a relationship from which she had a son named Rhyan Jacob who was born in 1993.

On the 2nd of January 2001, Nikki Sixx and Donna welcomed a baby girl named, Frankie-Jean Mary. Not too long after Frankie was born, the couple went their separate ways only to reconcile after Nikki had completed his rehab. However, on the 27 of April, they separated once again and this time it was for good. Their divorce was finalized in June 2007.

In 2008, he started dating a new lady known as Kat Von D, a tattoo artist. They spent two years together before ending the relationship finally on the 25th of August 2010, after going on and off.  He then began dating Courtney Bingham on the 4th of November 2010. Four years later on the 15 of March, they were married.

Height and Other Facts

1. Nikki Sixx has always been a moderate looking guy in his younger days. Though opting for a gothic look as a brand for his career may have made him look quite scary, he still managed to exude a likable and charming look generally with a height of 6 feet(1.84 m).

2. While living with his grandparents, he grew into a rascally youth who would break into the homes of neighbors, shoplift and vandalize properties. He even got into drug sales which eventually got him expelled from school. This behavior made his grandparents send him back to his mum who was residing in Seattle.

3. He got to learn how to play the bass guitar while staying with his mum. Oddly, the guitar he practiced with was bought with the money he realized from selling a different guitar he stole.

4. In terms of his net worth, he has a whopping $45 million to his name, a very impressive sum which is a testament to just how hard he has worked throughout his career.
