Patrick Andrew McCaw was born on October 25, 1995, to Jeffrey and Teresa McCaw in St Louis, Missouri. He is the fourth child among the six children of his parents and they are Jeffrey McCaw Jr., Celeste, Jayla, Camille, and Trinity McCaw. He attended Christian Brothers College High school, but had to move to Montrose Christian during his senior years and graduated in 2014. Upon graduation from high school, he enrolled at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and graduated two years after.

Basketball Career

Patrick McCaw started his basketball career in high school where he recorded an average of 13 points for every game he played. He also led his school team to the National Christian School Athletic Association Division 1 title games and is known to have played actively in all 18 games for the Mac Irvin Fire on the EYBL circuit and recorded an average of 6.5 points in a game. After a successful one year at Montrose Christian School, Patrick McCaw made the 2014 All-Gazette second team and upon graduation, he was ranked by ESPN as the No. 38 best shooting guards in the country.

He enrolled at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas for his college education, and going there was a big opportunity for Patrick as he played for the school’s basketball team – the  Runnin’ Rebels – where he recorded an average of 12.2 points, 4.2 rebounds, 3.3 assists and recorded steals of 2.45 in his 65 games. With such fantastic performance, he became the team’s top returning scorer in his first season which was a great step towards becoming a successful basketball player.

He also played 33 games in which he recorded an average of 14.7 points in a game, made 5.2 rebounds and 3.9 assists which ranked him as the second player in the country with the highest number of steals. He has also been named the second-team All-Mountain West team conference and after having a successful collegiate basketball career, he declared for the 2006 NBA Draft on April 4, 2016.

Pro Career In The NBA 

He was chosen by the Milwaukee Bucks as the 38th overall pick of the draft. That same year, Golden State Warriors picked immense interest in him but couldn’t sign him because they were still contemplating whether to draft him or not, however, one of the Warriors executive board members Jerry West, convinced the board of the impending regret the team will face if the player eventually slips off their hand.

The Warriors welcomed Patrick McCaw to their team and he officially signed a contract on July 6, 2016. On October 26, Patrick made his debut with his new team against the San Antonio Spurs in the season’s opener where he is said to have scored 2 points, 2 assists, made 1 steal and 1 block within 9 minutes of playing, however, his team lost the match which ended 129-100 in favor of the San Antonio Spurs

Patrick McCaw played a total number of 128 games and started a total number of 30 games, he recorded rebounds of 1.4, 1.2 assists, and made 6 steals.
