Pogba was born Paul Labile Pogba on March 15, 1993, in Lagny-sur-Marne, Seine-et-Marne, France, to Fassou Antoine and Yeo Moriba, immigrant parents from Guinea.
At around the age of 6, Pogba began playing football. He enrolled at US Roissy-en-Brie where he played for six seasons before moving to US Torcy. He was the best player on his new team where he was made captain and following an impressive first season, he joined the professional club Le Harve. The lanky midfielder continued to impress in the team’s youth set-up, helping them finish second place in the Under-16 National Championship.
In July 2009, after being extensively scouted by Manchester United, Paul Pogba decided to swap his French club for the English giant. The news of his decision to leave the French side caused an uproar between all the clubs involved and led to a FIFA investigation over claims that United “stole” the player. He continued his meteoric rise in the following season, making more appearances than any other player for the club in all competitions. Pogba was then shortlisted for the 2014 Ballon d’Or, the youngest player on the 23-man shortlist. He played for the Italian giants until the summer of 2016 when Manchester United paid a then world-record fee of €105 million for his services.

International Career
At just the age of 20, Paul Pogba made his international debut for France, having previously played for their different youth teams, most recently captaining the Under-20 team to a FIFA U-20 World Cup win. A year later, in 2014, Pogba was named the Best Young Player at the 2014 FIFA World Cup. He was subsequently part of the team that finished second in the 2016 European Championships and is currently hoping to win the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.
