Paulo was born in Córdoba, Argentina, to a multi-racial family on 15 November 1993. During World War II, Paulo’s grand-father Bolesław Dybała, a Polish from Kraśniów fled to Argentina. Paulo’s maternal grandmum hails from the Italian province of Naples.
Dybala who holds Italian citizenship started his playing career at Instituto de Córdoba where he set a record as the first to play 38 consecutive matches in a professional league in Argentina. In April 2012, he moved to Palermo where he played for three seasons.
On 4 June 2015, Paulo Dybala signed for Juventus for €32 million. In his first season with Juve, The Old Lay won the Scudetto and Paulo finished with 23 goals in all competitions. The next season, following the departure of Paul Pogba to Manchester United, Paulo had a less fruitful campaign in front of goal, netting just 11 times in Serie A. The club reached the Champions League final where they lost to Real Madrid. In the 2017/2018 season, Paulo had his most prolific goalscoring career, scoring 26 goals in 46 appearances.

Born into a middle-class family, his father, Adolfo Dybala made a declaration, that one of his sons would be born someday with one mission. To play football. And so it happened, Paulo the youngest of three brothers has gone on to make a career in football. Unfortunately, his father who had supported him throughout his formative years didn’t live long enough to see his son play on the big stage. He died of cancer in September 2008.

Has several nicknames
Paulo Dybala has a few nicknames that have been given to him by different people over the years. The first and most popular is La Joya given to him by Argentine journalist Marcos Villalobos after watching the star dazzle on the pitch whilst still young.
The nickname has been taken up fondly by teammates and fans alike. The second is a little complex, given to him because he had to leave his home and move into the guesthouse of his first team, Instituto de Cordoba.
