After high school, the Pittsburgh native enrolled to study at Baylor University and was there from 1981-1984. His time in the university saw him join the varsity’s swimming team in addition to becoming a member of The NoZe Brotherhood; a collegiate secret organization that initially began as a joke back then. Rand Paul would, however, drop out of Baylor without completing his studies. He later got admitted at his father’s alma mater, the Duke University School of Medicine where he obtained a medical degree in 1988 and completed his residency in ophthalmology in 1993.

Coming down to 2008, he popularised himself among American electorates when he ran for the U.S. Senate as a Republican on November 2, 2010, defeating Attorney General Jack Conway. He was sworn in on the 5th of January 2011 and has been serving as a U.S senator since then. Rand Paul has made productive contributions at various times as a member of the Energy and Natural Resources Committee, Health, Education, Labor and Pensions, Homeland Security, and Government Affairs, including Small Business, and Foreign Relations committees.

On April 7, 2015, he announced his intentions to run for the office of the United States President, but following his finishing as 5th out of 12 Republicans vying for the post at the Iowa caucus on February 3, 2016, he announced the suspension of his campaign. From then to the present time, Rand Paul has been serving well as a U.S Senator.

Kelley Ashby Paul was born on the 3rd of September 1963 in Russellville, Kentucky into a military family headed by Hilton Ray Ashby and his wife Lillian (Wessell) Ashby. Growing up, her family moved about a lot and she even lived in Turkey at a time.
