Rose Eleanor Arbuthnot-Leslie was born on the 9th of February, 1987 in Aberdeen, Scotland. Born into a noble family, she was raised at Lickleyhead Castle, Aberdeenshire. Sebastian Arbuthnot-Leslie, Rose’s father, is the leader of Clan Leslie – a Scottish Kinship group, while her mother – Candida Mary Sibyl belongs to Clan Fraser.
Rose attended Rayne North school in Aberdeenshire before moving on to Millfield, a private school in Somerset. She went further to spend three years at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts.
At the start of her career, the Scottish actress worked for BBC Radio. She made her on-screen debut in the film New Town in 2009 and also landed the lead in the play Bedlam at Globe Theatre. Her breakthrough role came when she played the role of a housemaid in ITV‘s drama, Downton Abbey.
