Electronic music that is performed live is rarely ever able to sound as great as the original recording but Rufus du Sol has found a way to infuse elements of live music in their recordings; this has helped in the reproduction of these songs live. The ability to do this earned them the award of Live Act of the Year award in 2017 an award that was given by the Electronic Music Awards.

Composition of the Band

The band is made up of three men and has had the same members since its inception in 2010 till date. They are Jon George, Tyrone Lindqvist, and James Hunt. George plays the Keyboard, Tyrone is on the guitar and also doubles as the lead vocalist, and that leaves James playing the drums.

In 2016, the band had to move to Los Angeles as their career required them to move to the United States of America and this was when they made the transition from the name RUFUS to Rufus du Sol. This change had to occur because the name Rufus was already trademarked in the US.

The band members were able to convey their displeasure at the decision in a Facebook release announcing the name change. Their move to the US necessitated and influenced their decision to collaborate with other musicians. The idea was foreign to them because they worked beautifully as a group and felt that adding a fourth person might tip the balance.

However, they were able to work with Jason Evigan; he worked on some tracks on the Solace album. Among their many success in the US, the band has had the opportunity to grace the stage at Coachella a number of times.
