Sally Hawkins has been working in the film industry since 2002. That was the year we all welcomed the English actress to the film world as Samantha in Mike Leigh’s drama film – All or Nothing. From then on, she was at the height of her capabilities with just a few mistakes here and there.

True, Sally’s acting career has flourished and blossomed since the day she introduced herself to the world as an actress. Nonetheless, she stormed the industry in 2017 and solidified her deep-rooted foundation in the profession with the release of the biographical film directed by Aisling Walsh – Maudie and The Form of Water, a fantasy drama film. This feat quickly became history when Sally Hawkins first starred in two productions, which were a huge success.

Hawkins was admired because she was the popular Canadian folk artist Maud Lewis in Maudie, and she was revered for playing Elisa Esposito in The Shape of Water. The latter has, as at the time of this report, raised over USD 54 million domestically. She has also raised over $95.2 million worldwide, while the former has not only raised $1 million at the Canadian box office since May 2017 but has also won several awards.

Sally is so in love with her acting career that she doesn’t think she would survive in other areas. She believes that her abilities are limited and that she would be useless in most ventures that have nothing to do with acting. As such, she hopes to remain an actress for a long time as long as she is still considered relevant in the industry.

However, she is angry about the contempt of the film industry towards women, which for her is manifested in the fact that actresses are paid less than men. The lady once expressed her dismay at the fact that women are undermined in the film industry as in other professions.
