It was in Castellon, Spain on 9 January 1980 that the man was born Sergio García Fernández. He was raised in the Spanish town of Borriol in a family of three children as the second child. Interestingly enough, since the age of 2, he started having his romance with golf which was inspired by his father who was a lover of sports.
Victor Garcia, his father, likewise raised Sergio’s 2 other siblings, an elder brother, Victor Garcia (Jr.), and his sister Mar to love the game. While his brother worked in a golf club and attended his college thanks to a golf scholarship, the other two went on to play the game, but it was Sergio that had the greater talent.
Apart from the love of the game of golf, Victor Garcia who lived very close to Valencia ensured that his family was raised in the most proper and traditional way as possible. He emphasized values such as humility and hard work. This would go on to show in the lives of his children.

Angela is a Golf Channel reporter who is also the daughter of former college All-American football player, Marty Akins. The family got a new member when it gave birth to its first child, Azalea Adele Garcia who was born on March 14, 2018.
