Sterling K Brown is an African American actor and model. He has been in the acting line since 2001 but is best known for his role in the first season of the crime anthology TV series The People v. O. J. Simpson: American Crime Story. His role in the series scored him an Emmy award and brought him to even bigger fame than he had previously enjoyed.
Taking it up a notch higher, Sterling got his second Emmy as well as a Golden Globe and a Screen Actors Guild Awards with his portrayal of Randall Pearson on the NBC drama This Is Us. Most recently he appeared in Black Panther and still has some incredible roles lined up for 2019.

Sterling Kelby Brown was born on the 5th day of April 1976, at St Louis, Missouri to their father, Sterling Brown Jr – who died in 1986 when young Sterling was barely 10 years old – and his mother, Aralean Banks Brown
He was raised alongside four siblings, two sisters, and two brothers; Robert and Armand Brown. Growing up, Sterling was called Kelby but when he turned 16, he made a change preferring to be called Sterling instead. He further explained how the change came about saying his mother told him he made the decision when he was much younger simply because Sterling is eight letters and Kelby is five. But apparently, for the then younger Kelby, a change in his name meant a change from being a child to being an adult.
Sterling K. Brown was raised in a Christian home, and had his early education at Mary Institute & St. Louis Country Day School, and obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Arts from Stanford University in 1998. He further had his Masters in Fine Arts from Tisch School of the Arts.
After his many years of honing his skills in school, Sterling K. Brown went straight into theater performances with various roles in regional theatre.
