Stevie G, as he is popularly referred to, is a former English midfielder and current manager of Rangers FC. He was born on the 30th of May 1980 in Whiston, Merseyside. Steven joined the Liverpool Academy at the tender age of 9. On the 5th of November 1997, he was offered his first ever professional contract by Liverpool but had to wait for about a year to make his first appearance for the Reds. His chance finally came in the form of a last minute substitution for right back Vegard Heggem on the 29th of November 1998; it was a match against Blackburn Rovers in the English Premier League.
