Stranger Things Season 4 Cast Members and Its Release Date

Stranger Things is a science fiction horror-themed show that has been entertaining viewers for the past 3 seasons on Netflix. Unsurprisingly, many fans of the show want to know if it’s okay to look forward to Stranger Things season 4, especially after the dramatic end of its 77-minute long season 3 finale titled ‘The Battle of Starcourt’, which concluded on the 4th of July 2019.

Ever since the first season of the show premiered on Netflix on July 15, 2016, it has continued to garner more audiences and viewership across the seasons that have aired, with its fans yearning for the show to continue for a few seasons more. Here are the things we know so far.

The Release Date For Stranger Things Season 4

There is no official or confirmed release date made available yet for Stranger Things season 4. The only information we can authenticate at the moment is that there will be a season 4 of the series.

In September 2019, Netflix released a teaser with respect to the show’s fourth season, captioning the video thus – “We’re not in Hawkins anymore”. In view of that, a popular media outfit that provides juicy and mostly accurate behind-the-scene updates on popular television shows speculated that filming for the fourth season of Stranger Things will begin in October 2019, but provided no information about its possible release date.

Also, we can confirm that the fourth season of the show had been written a while back and that Netflix had given its go-ahead for filming to commence. It is speculated that the released date of the fourth season would most likely be towards the end of 2020, or maybe early or mid-2021. If history is to be observed with regards to the release dates of prior seasons of Stranger Things, there is always a 15 to 19 months time frame between successive season releases. This has been observed from season one to three. So, we can all expect it anytime from late 2020 to mid-2021.

Though season four could mark the end of the well-loved series as the show’s director Ross Duffer shared during his interview with Vulture magazine, the executive producer Shawn Levy in his interview with Entertainment Weekly hinted that it could be extended for a 5th season. If that eventually happens, it would be the end of the series as they do not intend to stretch it for too long.

Stranger Things Season 4 Cast Members

Like the release date, the makers of the hit show have revealed little or no details regarding the cast members that would be returning to feature in the show’s 4th season. However, with the way the show ended in the third season, there are chances that many of the main casts will return. The only character in doubt is .

David plays the role of Jim Hopper who is the head of the Hawkins Police department. David’s character has been on the show since the first season, but as events unfolded in season 3, Hopper sacrificed himself at the gate of Upside Down in order to save both Joyce and Murray. Though his character was “killed” in Season 3, a good number of people believe that he may have been transported to another place and is not actually dead yet; guess we’ll have to wait and see if he does make it back.

There might be uncertainty surrounding David Harbour’s return, but it is quite clear that whose character (Billy) died in the episode finale of the third season is certainly off the show.

Every other main character on the show would most likely return for Stranger Things Season 4. So we can expect to see the likes of Gatten Matarazzo (who attracted much attention because of his rare bone and teeth disorder), , (the geek), , , (the aspiring professional photographer), and (Mike, Nancy and Toddler’s mother). That’s not all, Noah Schnapps, Sadie Sink, and are all expected to be a part of the 4th season.

As with previous seasons of the show, new faces would most likely be added in recurring and guest roles. Time will tell who they are and what roles they will be playing.
