The famous American singer was born Tameka Dianne Cottle on July 14, 1975, in College Park, Georgia, U.S. While her father, Charles Pope was African American, her mother Dianne Cottle is European. She was brought up together with her brother, Red Pope and her sister, Michelle Pope. She also has siblings from an earlier marriage of her father, counting up to six.
Music is not something that has been very far from her family as her father, Charles, founded the R&B group The Tams together with his brother, Joseph Pope in 1960. The band recorded some chart successes and saw its best years in the 1960s, ’70s, and ’80s.
