Teal Swan Bio (Wiki)

Teal was born in Santa Fe, New Mexico on the 16th of June 1984. Although there isn’t so much information about her parents’ names, information available on her official website states that her parents were living a hippie lifestyle at the time she was born. According to her, she has always had spiritual powers and extrasensory abilities from birth and grew up as a very weird and silent

She added that her extrasensory abilities were seen as a form of mental illness by the medical community at that time. Her parents moved to Utah when Swam was still very young, they worked as forest rangers and soon had another child – a son who was ‘normal’, unlike Teal.

Life wasn’t that easy for Teal Swan in the Utah community where her family settled. The community which is greatly influenced by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints believed that God gave special spiritual gifts only to men, and when a girl is born with spiritual talents, it is from the devil, and due to that belief and perception Teal says, she was harassed and bullied as a child.

At the age of six, Swam said she was pulled off the bicycle she was riding and raped by her father’s friend who wanted to possess the spiritual powers she had. According to Swam, the rapist was a locally respected veterinary physician friend of her father who attended cult meetings in his spare time.  She was already regarded as a weird, mentally ill and difficult child, had she said anything about the rape, no one would have believed or taken her seriously, thus, she remained silent and didn’t say anything about the abuse to anyone, not even to her parents.

According to Swam, her father’s friend raped her severally and forced her to take part in some mentally and physically exhausting cult rituals. He also managed to convince her that her parents weren’t her biological parents and that he was her real father, she believed him and formed a strange bond with him which is called Stockholm Syndrome. To further separate her from her family, Swam’s abuser convinced her parents that she was possessed by demons and that he is the only one who could help her out and they believed him.

For the next thirteen years, Teal Swan said she was tortured both physically and sexually in cult rituals, starved, forced to sleep with men for money and to undergo three abortions. When she turned nineteen, she escaped from her abuser and put up with a friend named Blake Dyer. They have remained friends till date, supporting and defending each other.
