Ted Ginn Jr. is an American football wide receiver and return specialist for the New Orleans Saints of the NFL. The wideout was born Theodore Ginn Jr in Cleveland, Ohio on April 12, 1985. He was diagnosed with a learning disability in the eighth grade; one he was able to overcome with the help of tutors and went on to excel in his studies. While he was a student in Glenville High School, his father was the school’s football and track teams coach which enabled him to excel in both sports as a two-star athlete.

Career

Ginn was a versatile player; he played as a defensive back, quarterback, and wide receiver in his high school team. As a defensive back, he was named the USA Today Defensive Player of the Year (2003), Parade All-American (2003) as well as the 2004 SuperPrep National Defensive Player of the Year. Following his senior season, he took part in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl as a member of the East team and was named the Most Valuable Player of the game, winning the Pete Dawkins Trophy in turn.
