Terminator: Dark Fate – Trailer, Cast, Release Date And Everything Else

There are several franchises like the Terminator series that have remained ageless through the years, enjoying massive followership. Since first started the franchise in 1984, it has evolved into one of the most followed movie series. Close to four decades later and five movies down, the sixth movie in the franchise, Terminator: Dark Fate is set for release.

While the franchise is well-loved, it is not all the films released under it that have enjoyed the same acceptance. However, with Cameron as the producer and Tim Miller, who directed as its director, the general expectation is that Dark Fate will be a success. Here, is what we know about the promising masterpiece so far.

Terminator: Dark Fate Release Date

Coming as the sixth movie in the classic Terminator film series, the science fiction movie has a release date of November 1, 2019. One interesting thing about the film is that it is coming back as a sequel to the first two films in the franchise, The Terminator and Terminator 2: Judgement Day of 1984 and 1991 respectively. What this means, in essence, is that Cameron and Miller are disregarding all the other films in the franchise that came after these two.

While it will first be released in cinemas in the United States on 1st November, fans in the UK will get it on 31st October 2019.

The Trailer of the Movie

In the trailer that has been released for the movie, we get to meet the android assassin of the film which is portrayed by Gabriel Luna. The first trailer which was released in May 2019 by Paramount Pictures introduced us to action-packed scenes with Mackenzie Davis trying to save a girl after returning to the past.

Terminator: Dark Fate – Cast

One of the main reasons there is so much buzz about Terminator: Dark Fate, apart from the fact that it is a Terminator film, is that it is the first time in many years that we are getting to see a reunion of James Cameron, (who has promised to return), and in a Terminator film.

Apart from the aging Arnold who is returning as T-800 “Model 101” / Carl and Hamilton who is portraying Sarah Connor in the film, other cast members are Edward Furlong (John Conor) who is to be protected at all cost, Mackenzie Davis (Grace) who is an assassin but now a cyborg, and Natalia Reyes (Daniella “Dani” Ramos), among others.

Everything Else To Know About Terminator: Dark Fate

1. What Is The Plot Of Terminator 6?

For now, the plot of the film is yet to be released officially by Paramount Pictures. But then, we know that it is taking off from where Terminator 2 stopped. More so, the film will only take account of events that happened in the first two films of the franchise.

What this means is that when the plot finally unfolds, you will do well by pretending the other films, apart from the first two, did not happen or happened in an alternate timeline. The reason behind this, according to Miller, is that the previous films were simply not good enough for anything to pick up from.

2. It is the start of a trilogy

This is not the first time that an attempt to a trilogy with films in the franchise was made. However, with the collaboration of Hamilton, Schwarzenegger, and Cameron since they did Terminator 2: Judgement day in 1991 – which is still regarded as the best Terminator film ever, we may as well have the trilogy.

The idea behind the latest installment is to transition the movie from the aging Arnold and Hamilton to a much younger cast. As stated, the film is ignoring all the previous films in the franchise that were not done by Cameron.

3. It brings together James Cameron, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and Sarah Connor

When The Terminator began, we saw these three collaborating together for the first time in 1984. The next time was in 1991 and since from then, they have not worked together in the franchise because Cameron did not return. It gets interesting that these two films are the most successful movies in the franchise with all those coming after still struggling to achieve a feat that is similar.

4. Budget

Terminator: Dark Fate is a big-budget film as it is having from $160 million to $200 million splashed on its production.
