Thomas Steven Middleditch was born on March 10, 1982, in Nelson, a small city in the Southern Interior of British Columbia, Canada. He was not an early bloomer as he was shy and reticent for the most part of his childhood. However, all that changed in the eighth grade when he got cast in a school play. Following that life-changing opportunity, Middleditch practised and mastered the art of improvisational theater while still in grade school and overnight, he became the toast of his entire school.
Middleditch had his college education at the University of Victoria after which he relocated to Toronto. There, he auditioned and got accepted into George Brown College but strangely, he never attended classes. He instead chose to learn how to make comedy sketches on his own while earning a living at a clothing store.
