She is an actress, comedian, and singer who is more popular with sitcoms even though she still has a lot of movies under her name. Tichina is one of those actresses who seem to have always been around, she started her career since she was a child and has grown into a really good career as an adult. Tichina Arnold Biography

Named Tichina Rolanda Arnold at birth on June 28, 1969, in Queens, New York, this stellar actress was also brought up here alongside her sister, Zenay Arnold who is now seen by many as an inspiration for braving and living above 7 Auto-Immune Diseases.

For her education, Tichina attended the Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts. She began acting very early having started performing in her family church. Her talent became very obvious and with the help of her mother and uncle, she began a career that would span decades. Her first onscreen role came when she was 16 with an appearance in The Brass Ring in 1983. This was followed by The House of Dies Drear in 1984 and then Little Shop of Horrors in 1986.

Thus far, Arnold has taken part in close to 30 movies including Fakin’ Da Funk (1997), Big Momma’s House (2000), Wild Hogs (2007), Dance Flick (2009), and Royal Family Thanksgiving (2015). She is also slated to make an appearance in the 2019 movie, The Last Black Man in San Francisco.

Beyond just the movies, where Tichina Arnold has become even more popular is with TV shows such as Ryan’s Hope (1989), The Cosby Show (1989), Law & Order (1990), Martin from 1992 to 1997, and One on One from 2001 to 2005. Tichina got a role in Everybody Hates Chris as Chris’ mother which she played from 2005 to 2009, Happily Divorced (2011 to 2013), Survivor’s Remorse (2014-2017), and Daytime Divas (2017).

Through her career as an actress, she has won a number of awards including the NAACP Image Awards and Teen Choice Awards for her role in Everybody Hate Chris and Martin.

Tichina has been married twice in the past. The first time she got married was to former professional American boxer, Lamon Brewster in 1992. Unfortunately, the marriage did not end happily ever after for the actress and her then-husband as it ended in 1995 in a divorce. Many years down the line in 2016, Lamon Brewster would confess that letting the actress go was the biggest mistake of his life.

The next man to become her husband was American basketball coach Rico Hines whom she tied the knot in 2012. For the second time, the marriage of the beautiful and funny actress ended in a divorce as she ended her union with Hines after his sex video with another woman went public. The actress revealed that it was not the first time that her husband would cheat on her and because of that, she no longer had trust in him.

Inasmuch as she did not have any child in her two marriages, Tichina Arnold has a daughter, Alijah Kai Haggins. She gave birth to her daughter in 2004 from a relationship she had with Carvin Haggins. It gets interesting to know that Alijah Kai Haggins is following in the footsteps of her mother as an actress having played roles in Everybody Hates Chris (2008) and Survivor’s Remorse (2015).

The two sisters started the We Win Foundation in order to assist people suffering from Lupus.
