Tim Hardaway Jr. is popularly known as a professional American basketball player currently playing for the New York Knicks of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Interestingly, he is the son of former NBA All-Star Tim Hardaway. Timothy Duane Hardaway Jr. was born on the 16th of March 1992 in Miami, Florida, United States. His parents are Yolanda Adkins Hardaway and Tim Hardaway. His mother, Yolanda, was a house worker, while his father, Tim, was a professional basketball player in his active years in the court. Basically, it was his father’s success as a basketballer that influenced him to seek a career in the sport.

For his high school education, Tim was enrolled into the Palmer Trinity School but was later transferred to the Miami Palmetto High School. While he was still a freshman, Tim started out playing football, before leaving the sport to focus more on basketball. As he directed most of his energy towards developing his skills in basketball, he was also facing problems with his dad who was like his second coach. Professional Career

In the process of being drafted, Tim Hardaway Jr. entered the contract with only two guards. This draft made him and fellow teammate, Burke become the first Michigan pair to be chosen in the maiden round since Jalen Rose and Juwan Howard in the 1994 NBA draft. The knick later made the official announcement that the contract signed by Tim was worth $6 million for a four-year period. Tim chose to wear the number 5 jersey, stating in a Twitter post that his decision stemmed from the fact that it is the same number his father wore as a rookie. He was subsequently traded to the Atlanta Hawks on the 25th of June 2015.

This trade was done in order to create the opportunity to exchange him for Jerian Grant. In his new team, he was listed as inactive for the season opener regardless of the 24 averaging points he garnered in the final two preseason contests. As the 2016-2017 season progressed, Tim was later expected to compete with Kent Bazemore, Thabo Sefolosha, and Kyle Korver for playing time. He would later make a debut with the team against the Boston Celtics on the 24th of November 2016. Tim Hardaway Jr. did well to post his very first career double in the NBA with 11 rebounds and 26 points in the match against the Orlando Magic on the 8th of November 2016. After missing 20 games, he returned to the Knicks on the 12th of January 2017.
