In 1992, Toby landed his first acting role in the film Orlando by Sally Potter where he was cast as Othello, and upon his graduation from the film institute LAMDA, he landed a lead role in William Shakespeare’s Coriolanus. He also made an appearance in another work of William Shakespeare titled Twelfth Night as directed by Trevor Nunn. Another remarkable role Toby Stephens is known for is as Gustav Graves in the 2012 Agent 007 James Bond film Die Another Day and the movie gained him a lot of recognition.
