Troy Tulowitzki is a professional baseball player who has become famous for playing in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the  Toronto Blue Jays. The shortstop made his debut in the league in 2006 and has played for the Colorado Rockies before moving to the Blue Jays. With many achievements on a personal level, here is all to know about him.

Troy Tulowitzki Biography

The Blue Jays man was born Troy Trevor Tulowitzki on October 10, 1984, in Santa Clara, California. He is of Polish descent and was raised a Catholic in a very spiritual family.

He was brought up in a family that loves sports alongside a brother, Tyler Tulowitzki who also has an interest in the game of baseball. As of 2013, he played as a First Baseman for the San Francisco State University after he was transferred from the San Jose City College. More so, he also has a younger sister, Tiffany Tulowitzki who was born in 1994. Unlike her brothers, Tiffany is interested in Softball.

For his education, he went to Fremont High School. From there he moved to California State University where he spent 3 seasons before going pro.

Professional Career

As a young player growing up, he represented the United States at the World University Championship of 2004 which the American team won.

In 2006, Troy Tulowitzki began his career after he was signed by the Colorado Rockies in 2005 having made the MLB Draft. Beginning his career against the New York Mets, he would remain with the team until 2015 when he was traded to the Toronto Blue Jays for the trio of José Reyes, Jeff Hoffman, Miguel Castro, and Jesús Tinoco.

Throughout his career, Troy has won many awards including the Shortstop National League Gold Glove in 2010 and 2011, the National League Silver Slugger Award in the same years for the same position, and the National League Player of the Month for September 2010 among many other awards. More so, he has also made 5 All-Star teams from 2010 to 2015.

In 2016, Athlete, MLB’s Troy Tulowitzki was named as one of the highest-paid athletes in the world, landing himself on the 79th spot on the Forbes list. That year, he made as much as over $22 million in salary and $300 thousand in endorsements.

He was able to make that much in the year thanks to the contract he signed worth $120 million. It became the second most expensive contract signed in the league by a rookie player. With the contract which is expected to last for 10 years, the shortstop would receive a monthly salary of $22 million.

With his salary, he has a massive fortune that is estimated at over $60 million. He got to make his wealth as stated from his salary, winnings, and numerous endorsement deals he has including with Nike.

Troy is not one of those who have had a long list of women they have dated. In fact, he has only been serious with a single woman whom he met while he was still in Freemont high school and who would go on to become his wife. At the time, both Troy and Danyll Gammon were students of the school.

Having been able to sustain their relationship for that long, the two got married in 2009 at a private event in Portola Valley, California. The marriage is blessed with a son, Taz Tulowitzki who was born in 2014.

Height, Weight, and Measurements

Like most baseball players, Tulowitzki has a good height and body weight. In fact, his athletic build is one of the things that have helped him in becoming the great player that he is. In numbers, he stands at a height of 6 feet 3 inches, and his body weight is 205 lbs.

While his other body measurements have not been provided in the public domain, it is obvious that he has a good body.

While in high school, the Blue Jay’s star played both basketball and baseball.

During his wedding to his wife, Danyll Gammon, his father was the best man, stating that he was so proud that his son ended with Danyll.

He is a devout Catholic who attends masses and reads his bible.

Troy grew up with his father Ken Tulowitzk. Many think of them as friends. It was in fact, his father who coached him until his high school days.

Tulowitzki’s young son is beginning to learn baseball.

Although he made the all-star in 2010, he didn’t make an appearance as he had a fractured wrist. He was, therefore, replaced with Jose Reyes.
