Wendy Haskell – Bio, Facts About Warren Moon’s Former Secretary

Wendy Haskell is an American sports reporter, doctor of physical therapy, orphan advocate and spokeswoman. For her love for sports, she thought her new job would afford her the opportunity to advance in her career in the sports market but never anticipated what was in store for her.

She joined Warren Moon’s Sports 1 Marketing company in July 2017 and couldn’t be any happier. However, beyond the roles she expected to play as a personal assistant, she was forced to comply with her boss’ bizarre requests in order to keep her job.

As she couldn’t put up with the developments anymore and being that her complaints didn’t yield the desired results, she came out publicly about the happenings in the company. She shot into the limelight in December 2017 filing a lawsuit against her employer for sexual harassment.

What came out of the lawsuit? Find out here and more facts about her.

Wendy Haskell – Bio

She was born in 1985 in Buffalo, New York, New York City, the United States. She belongs to white ethnicity and holds an American nationality. There are no known details about her early life or family.

Wendy Haskell attended Clarence High School in Buffalo where she was active on various athletic teams including track, gymnastics and basketball. She was also a dancer. After she graduated from high school, Haskell proceeded to the State University of New York at Buffalo from where she obtained a  degree in Exercise Science and a doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2009. She also played for the school’s Division 1 volleyball team.

Interested in sports since her school days, Wendy Haskell left the realm of just playing to working either as a therapist or trainer. As a therapist, she worked for Kiwi Physical Therapy in New York City between May 2013 and February 2016, prior to joining the U.S. Athletic training centre, New York, where she worked from 2014 to 2016. Haskell was also a colour commentator for the Time Warner Cable Sports Channel from 2010 to 2016, primarily covering the Buffalo Bills.

Combining her athletic and medical backgrounds, Haskell has become a rare talent as she is able to employ knowledge from both sides to discuss and analyze injuries with in-depth skills.

How Did She Become Famous?

In 2017, Wendy Haskell came to public awareness after she began working for Sports 1 Marketing, based in Irvine, California, in July. The company, founded in 2010, is co-owned by former NFL quarterback and Hall of Famer, Warren Moon, who also works as Seattle Seahawk’s radio analyst. She was hired as Moon’s personal assistant who would run errands for him, travel with him on business trips, as well as organize his appearances.

Shortly after landing the job, she accused Moon of sexual harassment. She alleged that she was forced to comply with her boss’ bizarre requests in order to keep her job. Some of those requests, according to her, include making her sleep in his bed on business trips, forcing her to wear only lingerie when she is alone with him and spiking her drink.

In the wake of these harassments, she claimed that she did complain about Moon’s behaviour to the company’s CEO and co-owner, David Meltzer. However, instead of taking the necessary measures towards the issues or even investigating them, she alleged that she got demoted instead. Furthermore, she was asked to comply with her boss’ requests in order to keep her job.

Wendy Haskell filed a suit against Moon in Orange County, California, on 4th December 2017. Her lawyer, Diana Fitzgerald said her client never went to the police with her claims because according to her, she was scared. Besides, she was looking forward to advancing her career in the sports market industry and had no idea that her job roles were going to involve that kind of personal protocol. There is no news about the outcome of the lawsuit for now, though it’s revealed that she has sought $3 million from Moon.

Interestingly, Haskell’s case isn’t the first time Moon has been accused of deviant behaviour towards women. In 1995, he faced a lawsuit for offering a Minnesota Vikings cheerleader money for sex. However, in this case, he denied drugging or sexually assaulting his assistant but agreed that he did make her sleep in his bed on trips. Moreover, he claimed that she only filed the lawsuit after his company refused her request for a multi-million dollar payout.

Following the lawsuit, he was relieved of his work as a Seattle Seahawks radio analyst. On Wendy’s part, she vacated her position at the company but it is not known where she is engaged now.
