Who is Andy Cohen?
Andy Cohen is a renowned American reality TV show host, producer, and author, most notable for his show Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen on Bravo TV. He has worked as a producer as well as a host of other popular shows such as Love Connection, Andy Cohen Live on SiriusXM, and Top Chef, among others. Interestingly, Andy is the first TV show host to publicly declare he is gay.
Andrew Joseph Cohen was born on the 2nd day of June 1968 in St Louis City of Missouri in the United States. He was born to middle-class American parents Lou Cohen and his wife Evelyn Cohen. He grew up in St Louis along with his sister Emily Rosenfeld. Andy completed his basic education at Clayton High School in 1986. He also went to Boston University where he got a degree in journalism a few years later. While he was there, Andy wrote for the Boston University newspaper The Daily Free Press. He also interned at CBS News along with Julie Chen.
After Andy completed his intern at CBS News he quickly gained employment on the network. He spent the first ten years of his career at the network working on different shows. He served as a senior producer on CBS shows such as CBS This Morning, 48 Hours, and The Early Show before leaving the network. Andy was hired by Trio TV Network in 2000 and after a few years, he rose to the position of vice president for programs after the network was acquired by Bravo in 2004.
Andy appeared on several shows including Morning Joe, Live with Kelly, The View, Saturday Night Live, and The Comeback. He began hosting his own show titled Watch What Happens Live in 2009 and the show was later renamed Watch What Happens with Andy Cohen. Andy also hosted a radio show, Radio Andy, on SiriusXM as well as Love Connection on Fox. He equally hosted Hollywood Game Night, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, Riverdale, and RuPaul’s Drag Race.
Asides from being a show host, Andy Cohen has also made his mark as a prolific writer and has authored a few books which have become New York Times Bestsellers. Some of which include an autobiographical book entitled Most Talkative in 2012. He followed it up with The Andy Cohen Diaries in 2014 and More Adventures from the Andy Cohen Diaries in 2016.
Is He Single or In Relationship With Anderson Cooper?
Just like we mentioned earlier, Andy Cohen is the first TV show host who publicly revealed that he is gay. The media star openly came out as gay while he was still at Boston University. He said it was the most difficult decision he ever made in his life Since then, he has aligned himself to the LGBT community and has been in few relationships to date. He was previously dating a man named Clifton Dassuncao. Clifton was a Ph.D. student at Harvard University and the pair started their relationship in 2015. After three years, they went their separate ways in April 2018.
While the media star is currently single, he has once revealed on Jimmy Fallon‘s show how nice it would be to be a couple with Anderson Cooper. Cooper is an American journalist best known for being the anchor of CNN show Anderson Cooper 360. Just like Andy, Anderson also publicly declared he is gay in 2012. The pair is co-stars in the Watch What Happens Show and they sure made a great team. Although they are not yet in a relationship; the pair shares good on-screen chemistry.
