Anna Ragsdale Camp was born in Aiken, South Carolina on the 27th of September, 1982 to parents, Thomas Sewell Camp, a bank executive, and Dee Camp, a democratic party volunteer. Anna has just one older sister named Saluda. During her childhood years, she was raised in Columbia, South Carolina where was enrolled into the Meadowfield Elementary School. In the second grade, she got her first exposure to acting when she was cast in a Drug Abuse Resistance Education production.
For her college education, Anna Camp gained admission into the University of North Carolina School of the Arts to study Fine Arts. Having completed all requirements for a University degree, Anna graduated successfully in 2004 after which she decided to pursue a career as an actress and this decision prompted her to move to New York.

In 2005, Anna played the role of Perfect in Columbinus, her stellar performance made more Hollywood producers consider her for similar roles. As a Broadway theatre performer, Anna Camp earned herself a Lucille Lortel Award for her role in the Off-Broadway play titled The Scene.
