Who is Blanca Blanco, Her Bio, Family, Relationship with John Savage

Beyond her enchanting looks, Blanca Blanco has done Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and a Master’s in Social Work. Blanca Blanco Bio

Blanca Blanco was born on the 22nd of January, 1981, in Watsonville, California, where she was raised by her parents along with her siblings. As a child, Blanco’s parents had to work multiple jobs in order to provide for their children as they encouraged them to take up any of the performing arts.

With this encouragement, Blanco, from an early age, gained an interest in singing and acting. When her parents were able to see that she had a considerable amount of talent, they enrolled her in acting and singing classes where she got to further brush up on her natural talent. Blanco went on to show passion for the arts as she was able to organize theatre performances with her siblings. She later went a step further to join the improvisational and sketch comedy troupe, The Groundlings, as well as a group put together by actor Gordon Hunt, The Gordon Hunt Group, through which she performed in multiple stage productions.

By the time Blanco finished high school, she gained admission to study Psychology at Washington State University, which prompted her to put a hold on her acting ambitions. After graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree, she enrolled at Eastern Washington University where she earned a master’s degree in Social Work. She then went on to find work as a counselor for hospice patients before later returning to her first love, acting.

Blanca Blanco made her acting debut in the independent film The Last Chicana (2010) before going on to appear in a number of other independent short films, one of which she co-produced. In 2011, she played the role of Mrs. Von Brausen in the parody sequel to the film Showgirls, titled Showgirls 2: Penny’s from Heaven.

In the coming years, Blanco appeared in Defending Santa (2013), Awakened (2013), Bullet (2014) opposite actor Danny Trejo, Bermuda Tentacles (2014), and American Romance (2016). Between 2016 and 2018, she appeared in three movies that premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in each of those years; Teen Star Academy (2016), 6 Children & 1 Grandfather (2017), and Mission Possible (2018). She was in that time, 2016 to be exact, also honored with the Arido Award for her contribution to the film industry.

Family

Not much is known about the family of Blanca Blanco, other than the fact that she has four siblings; two brothers and two sisters, and that her parents are Mexican immigrants to the United States. Like most other immigrant families, Blanco did not have it all as a child since her parents had to work multiple jobs to put food on the table and provide for their children, giving them a better opportunity to make a better life for themselves, as Blanco seems to have managed to do.

Relationship with John Savage

Blanca Blanco has been in a long term relationship with actor John Savage who is best known for his roles as Donald Lydecker in the TV series Dark Angel (2000–2001) and in the movies The Deer Hunter (1978), The Onion Field (1979), and Hair (1979). Prior to his relationship with Blanco, Savage was married twice; first to Susan Youngs with whom he had two children, from 1967 to 1969, and then to Sandi Schultz from 1993 to 2003.

It is not clear when exactly Blanco and Savage first met each other as it has been reported that both of them, along with actors Sally Kirkland and Bruce Glover, all trained together. The pair officially began dating each other in 2008, prompting them to be nicknamed Beauty and the Beast by the media, a nod to Savage’s role as Beast in the 1987 version of the film. Savage and Blanco have since been an item, worked together in a number of films, including Awakened, Bullet, and Bermuda Tentacles among others.

In 2018, Blanco and Savage’s Malibu home was among the 1,643 structures that were destroyed in the Woolsey Fire.
