Biography – Who Is Chad Daniels?
According to his About page on his self-titled website, Chad Daniels is a writer, performer, and comedian. Daniels was born on the 2nd of March 1975 in Fergus Falls, Minnesota.
Information about his early days and upbringing isn’t immediately available, but we’ve listened to his jokes and Daniels seems like he was one of those goofy class clowns that everyone thought was the most likely to fail in life. Well, the failure might have happened if Daniels went for a white-collar job but he knew better than to get a career that would have him put on a suit all week long, and thankfully, the world is a happier place.
Records show that Chad Daniels began performing in 1998 at the age of 23. Like most of the world’s successful comedians today, Daniels got his start at open mic nights at the ACME Comedy Company. Receiving invaluable tips from the company’s owner Louis Lee, Chad Daniels quickly grew to become a crowd favorite and consequently, the demand for his works went up.
Simultaneously, Daniels began performing at Westward Ho Comedy Club in Grand Forks, North Dakota. In 2003, he brought his talent to the Comedy Central comedy competition Laugh Riots and was a finalist. The following year, Daniels’ talent began to take him abroad, first to Canada where he performed at the Just for Laughs Festival in Montreal. He has since returned to the country many times.
Shortly after Comedy Central’s new show Live and Gotham premiered in July 2006, Chad Daniels became one of the upcoming comedians to perform at the show. Two years later in 2008, he scooped a berth on Comedy Central Presents, the network’s main half-hour program. He served as a writer.
The year 2009 seemed to be the breakthrough year for Chad Daniels. His talent impressed legendary late-night host Conan O’Brien so much that he invited him to his show, making him one of the 13 comedians to feature on The Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien.
That same year, he released his album Busy Being Awesome and was the recipient of the City Pages Artist of the Year Award. Other late-night shows that came calling for his services were The Late Late Show with Craig Kilborn and The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson as well as the syndicated radio show The Bob & Tom Show.
Chad Daniels was the winner of 2012’s Gilda Laughfest along with the $10,000 prize money. He has been a recipient of the Aspen Comedy Festival’s ‘Comics Comic’ award. In 2012, Daniels released an hour special As Is and his third comedy album You’re the Best. In 2014, his 4th comedy album Natural Selection peaked at #7 on the Billboard Comedy Albums Chart while his 5th, Footprints on the Moon (2017) was even more successful reaching #2. Footprints on the Moon became one of the top-streamed comedy albums on Pandora in 2017.
Chad Daniels continues to tour across the nation and occasionally performs abroad.
His Family, Wife, and Kids
If you’re a fan of Chad Daniels then you are well aware that the comedian often includes his wife and kids in his comedies, making fun of the former most time and talking about his parenting skills with the latter. Chad Daniels’ wife is named Traci and we found her on IG with the handle tralyb.
It is not known when they were married but the couple met in the fifth grade and now share at least two kids together including a boy named Isaac who seems to be the oldest and a daughter whom Daniels is particularly fond of judging from the frequency at which he posts about her on social media. Chad once revealed during one of his performances that his wife has a Ph.D. in Genetics.
