To many people, cars are just another invention of man to make commuting from one place to the other very easy and as comfortable as it can be, while to others, cars are the fulcrum of their lives. They live on cars and everything that has to do with automobiles much to the admiration of others. One such person is Dennis Collins whom you have probably seen in Fast N’ Loud.
Find out more about his life here in addition to who the members of his family are, his net worth, and how he got to be where he is today.
Who is Dennis Collins From Fast N’ Loud?
Dennis Collins is an American Businessman, a famous dealer in the automotive industry, and a media personality, who is best known for his appearances on the hit reality show Fast N’ Loud shown on the Discovery channel.
Collins is the owner of Collins Bros Jeep(1984), a dealership that specializes in restoring, refurbishing, and customizing Jeep CJs and Wranglers. He’s not only one of the biggest and most knowledgeable car dealers on the planet, but he’s also a proud owner of some of the rarest and most coveted vintage cars.
Born on January 28, 1965, in Wylie, Texas, Collins graduated with a degree in Economics and Finance, from the University of Texas.
Dennis Collins is a record breaker as an avid car collector, including the historic Cannonball time, a coast-to-coast nonstop trip from New York to Los Angeles with his close friend and head of Gas Monkey Garage Richard Rawlings in a 1999 Ferrari 550 Maranello.
Collin negotiated a deal to acquire the 1958 Austin-Healey, a car he said he’s been chasing for over 25 years in an interview with Hooniverse. He disclosed that he constantly called up the owner each year until they retired and finally negotiated a deal. With some bodywork on it, the car, dubbed “Goldie,” turned into a total beauty to win the Kuwait Concours d’Elegance award for Best Restored Car. He is also reputed as the owner of the first production model of the Nash-Healy built-in 1950.
If there’s one thing Dennis Collins is known for, it’s his transparency in showing off his prized collections, one of which is a white 2013 Lamborghini Super Trofeo which is reportedly one in 40 that are in existence. Collins also believes he’s the only private owner of the model and is legally free to drive it.
As obsessed as Collins is, it’s no surprise that he has collected and sold more than 500 Healeys collections in his three decades in the automotive business. While these beauties come in and go out of his dealership, there are some cars Collins considers unforgettable like the Super Boss, the most expensive Mustang in the world. For him, the rareness of the Super Boss makes it more significant than the monetary value. It was established that the car toured Vietnam during the war. He ended up selling it for a whopping $116,000 at the Barrett-Jackson auction.
Before then, he became a social media sensation for owning Fox Body Mustangs before selling them off at the auction. The videos showing off the cars at the time gained around 3 million views.
Collins perfectly blended his passion into commerce, a representation of the saying: “do what you love and you will never have to work a day in your life.”
His Wife and Daughter
Dennis Collins describes himself as a simple human who has a passion for his family, life, the Jeeps, and the classic cars he buys and sells. He is married to his most supporting partner, Kimberly Collins and for more than two decades the couple is still committed to each other in their blissful marriage.
Collins and his wife have a grown and beautiful daughter Kelsey Collins, whom he said has given him a run for his money lately with her involvement in the automobile business. He loves sharing pictures of his family on his social media page including one in which he surprised his wife Kim with a diamond ring to celebrate their silver jubilee of married life. They live in a cantilevered home proximate to a golf area in Richardson.
As far as investing in heaps of motorized metal and making money out of the hobby is concerned, Dennis Collins is a winner. As the owner of CBJeep with its parts line; Black Mountain Jeep Parts & Accessories, he has accumulated tremendous wealth over the years. Various sources have estimated his net worth to be $30 million.
The Texas-based entrepreneur acquired the famous Law Man Mustang, a Super Boss 429 horsepower machine for under $100,000 which recently sold for over $2 million.
In July 2017, it was reported by Dallas News that Collins’ house has a garage large enough to contain more than twenty cars – of course with air-conditioning. He decided to put up his family’s North Texas estate for sale, without the cars, and build a dream house in another region of Texas.
