It was on November 16, 1964, that the singer was born Diana Jean Krall in Nanaimo, British Columbia, Canada. Diana was raised with her sister Michelle who once worked with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP). While her father, James “Jim” Krall was an accountant, her mother, Adella was a school teacher.
Diana Krall’s interest in music began since she was just a little girl thanks to the influence of her parents who were both music lovers. While her father would play the piano at home, her mother was a part of the community choir. By the time she was 4 years old, Krall had already started taking classical piano lessons but her exposure to jazz music was thanks to her grandparents. She began performing in bars and restaurants after she clocked 15.
