Kudlow began his journey to stardom at the New York Federal Reserve as a junior financial analyst. After his stint with the government, he was hired as a financial analyst at Wall Street-based financial firm, Paine Webber and Bear Stearns.

He later joined the administration of former American president Ronald Reagan in 1981 as associate director for economics and planning in the Office of Management and Budget. After Larry successfully served in Reagan’s first term administration, he left and returned to Wall Street and Bear Stearns to serve as the organization’s chief economist. He served in the position from 1987 until 1994, after which he became an economic media commentator with National Review, an American semi-monthly conservative editorial magazine that centers on commentary pieces and news.

Larry Kudlow also worked at the American news television channel, CNBC from 2001 to 2018 and was known for anchoring several shows during his time at the firm. He made a political comeback in 2018 after he was named as Gary Cohn’s successor at the National Economic Council.

Who Is Larry Kudlow?

He is the son of Irving Howard Kudlow and Ruth Kudlow who named him Lawrence Alan Kudlow, after he was born on August 20, 1947. Born into a Jewish family in Englewood, New Jersey, U.S.A, Larry studied at the private Elisabeth Morrow School in Englewood, until 6th grade, when he joined the Dwight-Englewood School from the second half of middle school to high school.

Upon the completion of his high school education, the renowned analyst proceeded to the University of Rochester in Rochester, New York, to study history. He eventually graduated with a degree in history in 1969. While in Rochester, Larry was a member of the institution’s tennis team and an active member of the left-wing Students for a Democratic Society at the school.

Two years after he left Rochester, Kudlow enrolled at the prestigious Princeton University’s Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs to further his education. He ended up majoring in politics and economics but eventually left the school before completing his master’s degree.

Kudlow previously struggled with hard substances. His quest to clean up himself led him to enter a twelve-step program in the mid-1990s. Shortly after he overcame his addictions to alcohol and cocaine, he was converted to Catholicism under the tutelage of Father C. John McCloskey III and would become a staunch member of the Roman Catholic Church.

Larry has served in various prestigious positions, including as a member of the advisory committee of the Kemp Institute at the renowned Pepperdine University School of Public Policy, a member of the Advisory Board of the Ave Maria Mutual Funds, a member of the Fordham University Board of Trustees.

In his entire life, the Englewood-born political bigwig has tied the knot three times. His first marriage was to Nancy Ellen Gerstein, staff at The New York magazine. The couple wedded in 1974 and later divorced after one year.

The political analyst found love again in the eyes of Susan (Cullman) Sicher, whom he wedded in 1981. A few years after their marital relationship began; Susan and the renowned analyst’s love boat hit the rock, leading to them divorcing.

Larry’s third wife is Judith “Judy” Pond, a Montana-born painter. The couple got married in 1986 and has been living peacefully ever since.

What Happened To His Health?

Ever since he burst into a bigger mainstream as a member of President Trump’s administrative body, Kudlow has always wowed audiences worldwide with his great looks. However, it was reported on June 11, 2018, that the top economic adviser to the U.S President suffered what the White House dubbed a “very mild” heart attack.

In a statement released by the White House Press Secretary, Sarah Sanders, the presidency disclosed that Kudlow had already been taken to the Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C. for treatment and that the director of the National Economic Council was “doing well”.

Coincidentally, Kudlow’s mild heart attack took place on the same day his boss, Donald Trump, was scheduled to dialogue with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un in Singapore for the highly-anticipated American summit with North Korea.

For now, it is not known if Larry has past record of any sort of health challenge regardless of the fact the June 11 attack was the first time his health received media attention and was widely covered.

Where is He Now?

At the moment, the good news is that Larry Kudlow is in great condition following the mild heart attack. Of course, he is expected to start from where he stopped in the Trump administration once he is strong enough to stand on his feet.

As of the time of writing, he is still at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland, where he is being treated.
