The hockey star, Michael Hoffman was born on the 24th day of November 1989 in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada. He is the son of Todd Hoffman and his wife, Debb Hoffman. His father was a former ice hockey player who made an outstanding impact in the OHL (Ontario Hockey League) during the ‘80s. Growing up, Mike developed a keen interest in pursuing a career in ice hockey after watching his father play the game. Hoffman began his amateur career in 2006 when he joined the Kitchener Dutchmen team of the Mid-Western Junior Hockey League. After his first season with the team, Mike went on to play for the Kitchener Rangers of the Ontario Hockey League. From there, he transferred to the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League where he spent a couple of seasons until 2010. For his outstanding performance in the 2009/10 season, Mike Hoffman won the Michel Briere Memorial Trophy and Frank J. Selke Memorial Trophy. Turning pro, Mike Hoffman was drafted by the Ottawa Senators as the 130th overall player in the NHL draft of 2009. Afterward, he was enrolled at the Senators’ development academy in July 2010.
