He is a Canadian ice hockey star currently associated with the Florida Panthers of the National Hockey League. Since the inception of his professional stint in 2010, Mike has equally played for the Ottawa Senators as well as their American Hockey league affiliate, Binghamton Senators. Notably, he led the Binghamton Senators to clinch the Calder Cup Championship in 2011. He has been named to the All-Star Game and First All-Star Team respectively.
The hockey star, Michael Hoffman was born on the 24th day of November 1989 in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada. He is the son of Todd Hoffman and his wife, Debb Hoffman. His father was a former ice hockey player who made an outstanding impact in the OHL (Ontario Hockey League) during the ‘80s. Growing up, Mike developed a keen interest in pursuing a career in ice hockey after watching his father play the game. Hoffman began his amateur career in 2006 when he joined the Kitchener Dutchmen team of the Mid-Western Junior Hockey League. After his first season with the team, Mike went on to play for the Kitchener Rangers of the Ontario Hockey League. From there, he transferred to the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League where he spent a couple of seasons until 2010. For his outstanding performance in the 2009/10 season, Mike Hoffman won the Michel Briere Memorial Trophy and Frank J. Selke Memorial Trophy. Turning pro, Mike Hoffman was drafted by the Ottawa Senators as the 130th overall player in the NHL draft of 2009. Afterward, he was enrolled at the Senators’ development academy in July 2010. Later on, he was assigned to their American League affiliate, Binghamton Senators. He helped the team to win the Calder Cup in the 2011 season and also made his NHL debut for the Ottawa Senators later that year. He continued sharing his playing time between the Senators and their AHL affiliate until the end of the 2017 season. During the 2018 season, the player was sent on a trade to the Florida Panthers. Since then, he has been a prominent member of the team to date.
