Nancy McKeon is an American actress best known for her role as Jo on the NBC television show of the 80s The facts of Life. Of all the movies and tv shows she appeared in as far back as the 80s and 90s, most people today will most likely remember her for Facts of Life and its subsequent spin-offs.

Who is Nancy Mckeon?

She was born on April 4, 1966, to parents of a white ethnical background and American ancestry. Nancy is a staunch believer and she practices the Christian religion in the Roman Catholic foundational church. She has attained so much fame in the acting world, especially because she took it up from a really young age and since then, there has been no stopping or slowing down for the seasoned actress. Career

Mckeon started acting at the age of two and got her main role in 1977; at about eleven (11) years of age, nevertheless, she started with commercials on TV alongside her brother Phillip Mckeon who is also an actor. She continued with appearances on soap operas like The Secret Storm and Another World. Just when she was beginning to get the hang of it all, she moved with her immediate family to Los Angeles in 1975 and this seemed like a setback to her acting career which was already picking up. The move was facilitated by a huge role her brother got to appear as Tommy Hyatt in the American sitcom Alice.

After Facts of Life, McKeon was considered for the TV adaptation of the 1988 film Working Girl, but in the end, Sandra Bullock got the role even though she was still largely unknown at the time.

In 1995, Nancy took the bull by its horns when she starred in her own TV series Can’t Hurry Love, but this was not to last as the series got canceled after just one season. She took other smaller roles and made appearances until another big project came calling in 2001 when she was cast as Inspector Jinny Exstead on the Lifetime police drama The Division. This role lasted until 2004 and her real-life pregnancy had to be written into the storyline towards the end of the series. Fast forward to 2009, McKeon played the role of Connie Munroe in the Disney Channel Original Series Sonny with a Chance.

She went on to win the ‘Audience Award for best short drama’ for A Wakening in the year 2000 and in the year 2003, Mckeon was nominated to the Prism awards for her performance in The Division.
