All golf lovers should be familiar with the name Paul Casey, the English professional golfer and member of the US-based PGA Tour who was selected for the EurAsia Cup in January 2018.
Best known for earning a third overall world golf ranking in 2009, Casey has maintained his position as one of the top-ranking golfers of his time. The 2017 Masters ranked him as one of the highest players of our time. Here, we will look at facts about the young golfer’s personal life and his net worth.
Who Is Paul Casey?
Paul was born in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire with his original name being Paul Alexander Casey. He was born on July 21, 1977, but he grew up in Weybridge, Surrey, West London where he moved with his parents. Paul had his earliest education first with Cleves School, Weybridge, and then Hampton School, west London before moving to Strode’s College, Egham, Surrey for his A-levels. Later, he would get to attend Arizona State University on a golf scholarship.
Beginning his career as an amateur golfer, Casey never failed to distinguish himself from his peers. He displayed an exceptional playing record while in the U.S winning the Pac-12 championship three consecutive times (1998, 1999, and 2000). It was, in fact, after his success in the 2000 championship that he turned pro. This was inevitable considering the fact that he broke records held by the American Professional golfer, Eldrick Tont Woods better known as Tiger Woods. Since then, Paul has taken part in two notable world’s professional golf tours, the US-based PGA Tour and the European Tour.
In May 2001, Casey joined the European Tour where he came second in his fifth event and made a major win in the Gleneagles Scottish PGA Championship. He ended the season 22nd on the order of merit and collected the Sir Henry Cotton Rookie of the Year award. The following year was also remarkable for the golfer as he earned the Benson and Hedges International Opening 2003. He also did well at the ANZ Championship and came sixth on the Order of Merit.
However, 2004 was a disappointing year for him as he was unable to win any individual titles in that year. Nevertheless, he was able to make some remarkable achievements like joining the European Ryder Cup team and winning the WGC-World Cup for England in partnership with Luke Donald.
Paul has maintained remarkable breakthroughs since then. His major winnings were made in 2009 when he earned his 10th event on the European Tour at the Wentworth Golf Club’s 2009 BMW PGA Championship in Surrey. This led to his rise to 3rd on the list of the Official World Golf Ranking.
His Net Worth
In addition to earning his best titles in 2009, Casey has earned more for himself. This includes the 2011 Volvo Golf Champions tournament in Bahrain and the 2012 Telus World Skins Game in Canada. He had his 12th European Tour title at The Irish Open in 2013, the following year, he won his 13th European Tour title at the KLM Open in the Netherlands. All these gained him a net worth of about $21 Million with an annual salary of about $4 million.
Casey is 18th on the list of top 20 highest-paid golfers on the PGA Tour and while he has maintained his position on the list of top 30 world rankings for two straight years, his only PGA Tour win was in 2009.

Woodward who is best known for co-presenting The Gadget Show which aired from 2010-2013, was engaged by Paul during the Christmas period in 2013 and they got married in January 2015.
