She is an American TV personality who has become famous for starring in the show, but apart from that, she is also a writer, businesswoman, and motivational speaker among other things. Most recently, she was in the news with rumors spreading that she is set to return to RHOA. While that may not be true, meet her and why she got fired from the show.
Who Is Phaedra Parks
Phaedra Parks was born in Oct 1973 in Athens, Georgia as the second of the four children of Henry Parks and Regina Bell. Both her parents were educators and pastors. Raised alongside Henri Jacques Parks, Albert Bell, and Keosha Bell who are her siblings, Phaedra went to Wesleyan College from where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree. From there, she proceeded to the University of Georgia where she studied law and obtained a Juris doctorate. Still not done, Parks went to Jefferson State College and got a degree in mortuary sciences.
As a super educated individual, she began a law firm, The Marks Group PC after she graduated from Law School. Now a managing partner in the firm, Parks first practiced law while also embalming dead people. Her work as a legal practitioner was on the weekdays while her embalming work was mostly overnight and at weekends.
Considered a very good attorney, she got a nomination for the Attorney of the Year from Outstanding Atlanta in 2006 while she was also named the Attorney of Distinction by the entertainment site Jezebel. As an intellectual property right and civil and criminal litigation lawyer, she is famous in the entertainment circle where she has represented big names including Too $hort, Bobby Brown, and Michael Jackson through her law firm.
The attorney and mortician is also a published author having written the book, Secrets of the Southern Belle: How to Be Nice, Work Hard, Look Pretty, Have Fun, and Never Have an Off Moment (2013).
In 1996, Parks met the man who would later be her husband, Apollo Nida. The two began dating but they would soon become just friends when she found out his age and believed he was too young. In 2004, Apollo was sent to prison causing them to lose touch but when he came out, they continued dating.
Phaedra Parks and Apollo got married in 2009 and a year later, they had their first child Ayden Adonis who was then followed by Dylan in 2013. A year after their second child was born, the two separated following a bank fraud and identity theft against Nida who was later sent to prison for the crime. In 2016, Phaedra got a divorce from her husband and she now lives with her sons in Atlanta while Apollo is serving his term.
During the third season of The Real Housewives of Atlanta in 2010, Phaedra Parks made her first appearance in the show as one of the main casts. She remained a part of the reality TV show until the tenth season when she was fired.
Why Was She Fired From RHOA
The former Real Housewives of Atlanta star was said to have been fired from the Bravo show for spreading lies and rumors. As reported by TMZ, Parks told Porsha Williams that Kandi and Todd Tucker had plans to drug Porsha and then sexually take advantage of her. The episode was, however, not aired because Kandi was said to have threatened Bravo if it got aired.
On its part, Bravo decided to cut ties with Parks, believing that she went too far and out of line with the rumor. Since her departure, there have been speculations that she may be making her way back to the show, but so far, the chances for her return are close to non-existent.
