The American actress was born in Euless, Texas on the 10th of January 1980. Her birth name is Aahoo Jahansouz Shahi, but she adopted the name ‘Sarah’ after being ridiculed by her schoolmates. The name Sarah comes from a song she loved by the Irish rock band – Thin Lizzy. She studied at Trinity High school before going on to study English and Theater at Dallas Southern Methodist University.

The actress won the Miss Forth Worth beauty pageant of 1997. Years later, in 1999, the aspiring actress became a member of the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders squad, and even made an appearance on the cover of the squad’s calendar in 2000. She got closer to her dreams of becoming an actress when she was featured as an extra in the 2000 Romantic Comedy Dr T and the Women. She then bagged some supporting roles in a few TV series like including Off Center, City Guy, Boston Public, and Spin Center. She heeded the director, Robert Altman’s advice to move to Hollywood to further her career.
The year 2003 was a fruitful one for the promising actress because she appeared in White & Blond, Old School, and Legally Blond: Red, White & Blonde. She then got roles in more movies including For Your Consideration, Shades of Ray, AmericanEastand The Dog Problem. She has an older brother, Cyrus and a younger sister, Samantha. Her parents got divorced when she was only ten, leading to her being raised by her mother. At her father’s insistence, she grew up speaking Persian and is very fluent in the language.
