Who Is Scrapp Deleon of Love & Hip Hop Atlanta, The Net Worth, Is He Out of Jail

Scrapp Deleon is an American reality TV star best known for his appearance as one of the recurring cast members of the VH1 reality TV show, Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta beginning from the 5th season. He appeared on the show alongside his mother Karen KK King, and his recording artist brother, SAS.

Unfortunately, Deleon’s appearance on the show was truncated later in the 5th season after he was sent to jail for drug trafficking. Scrapp’s final arrest and court hearing which was filmed by VH1 cameras would perhaps go down in history as one of the most memorable scenes of the show.

Here is what you need to know about his life and jail time.

Who Is Scrapp Deleon of Love & Hip Hop Atlanta?

Scrapp Deleon of Love & Hip Hop Atlanta was born as Will Cortez Robinson on March 12, 1988, in Woodstock, Georgia to a single mother Karen King. As a young boy, Scrapp was a fan of rap music. Fast forward to his teenage years, Scrapp alongside his younger brother SAS (born Lyndon Ahlik Smith on June 2, 1993) became a part of a rap group, Da Razkalz Cru which was formed by their first cousin, late rapper Dollar (real name Roderick Anthony Burton II). The boys all grew up together in the same house.

In addition to their rap group, the brothers formed The Gang Entertainment bringing in their friend Streetz.

Da Razkalz Cru in 2003 got signed to a record deal with Elektra Records. They made their first TV appearance as a group in the live-action, sketch comedy-variety show, All That.

Under Elektra Records, the group released their debut single “So Fly” which, unfortunately, struggled to find success. As a result of the single’s failure, Scrapp’s group was dropped from the label after which each group member went about their solo business.

The most successful of the group members would become Dollar, who met Akon shortly after being dropped from Elektra Records and in 2007 got signed as a solo act to Akon’s Konvict Muzik label.

Unfortunately, Scrapp’s cousin Dollar whom he often referred to as brother Dollar didn’t live long enough to gain much ground with his music. Scrapp was chilling with Dollar in a mall in LA during the late afternoon hours of 18th May 2009 when the 23-year old Aubrey Louis Berry shot Dollar to death.

Dollar’s unfortunate passing would come to greatly influence Scrapp and his music. In a 2010 interview with XXLMag, Scrapp revealed that in memory of his cousin, he started a restaurant which he named Buck’s Barbeque. The dollar was referred to as Buck by his family.

Also in honor of Dollar, Scrapp started a non-profit organization for kids called the “Dolla Foundation.” The foundation is aimed at promoting child education.

The split of his boyhood group wasn’t the end of Scrapp’s music career as he continued to be involved with music. He would later form a group named Natural Born Leaders (NBL) which included people with different dreams with the common goal of supporting each other. On the music side of things, Scrapp continued to do new music releasing the mixtape No Better Therapy. However, he never surfaced in the mainstream until 2015 when he joined the cast of Love and Hip Hop.

Scrapp Deleon has two sons named Aking and Akil. The former is from his long-term relationship with his fellow reality star, Tia Becca. He was also in a relationship with LHHA star, Tommie Lee.

Is He Out of Jail?

As of this writing, Scrapp Deleon is still being held behind bars, however, chances are that he could be released as soon as 2019! Deleon was originally supposed to be sentenced to 20 years behind bars for drug trafficking.

The sentence is according to the Georgia state law which classifies carrying an amount of marijuana worth between 10 – 20,000 pounds as a felony. Deleon was busted with a quantity that fell between that range on May 13th, 2014.

However, after pleading guilty to drug trafficking at his final hearing in March 2016 and requesting that the judge be lenient on him, his sentence behind bars was reduced to 5 years with 15 years probation and a $100,000 fine. Following that calculation, Scrapp’s release year should be 2021.

However, reports surfaced in early 2018 that he could be released in 2019, before his due date. His early release was first hinted at in a synopsis of the 7th season of Love and Hip Hop Atlanta. A subsequent episode of the season showed Scrappy’s mom visiting his bail bondsman who said that Scrapp could be out by July 2019 due to him being on his best behavior behind bars.

His Net Worth

Scrapp Deleon may not have gone mainstream with his music but that doesn’t mean he isn’t earning much. He also bolsters his music earnings with proceeds from his restaurant and clothing line. His net worth is estimated at $200,000.
