Suzanne Lloyd – Biography
Suzanne Lloyd was born on November 11, 1934, Toronto, Canada, where she had her early education. When it was time for college, she immigrated to California and there, she attended Pasadena Junior College, a community college located in Pasadena.
There is no mention of her parents or siblings in Lloyd’s records but she later built a family of her own as an adult.
Her foray into the acting world took off after a chance meeting she had with an actress when she was studying in California. The actress happened to be reading for a play at the time and Lloyd loved the script and asked to join her in the reading. She later landed the lead role in the play after her friend (the actress) dropped out along the way. The play was a success and even earned her recognition from Disney who offered her a spot in the production company.
She began acting in 1958 but her first recorded role came in 1959 when she starred as Maya/Miss Thomas in the ninth episode of the Twilight Zone anthology series. The 1960s was mostly busy for the Canadian actress who appeared in many American, British and even French films. She played the role of Lucinda in Seven Ways from Sundown (1960), Carmen in Pepe (1960), Maxine Powell in The Return of Mr. Moto (1965), Claudette in The Riviera Touch (1966) and Evelyn in The Champagne Murders (1967).
Lloyd’s spell with Disney led to the role of Raquel Toledano in Zorro – an American action-adventure western series. She was initially supposed to appear in two episodes but her stellar performance set her aside and earned her more episodes.
When her job at Disney was done, Suzanne Lloyd auditioned at CBS, landing a spot alongside and Martin Balsam on the series Rawhide. She continued to pick up other roles in projects like Lux Playhouse, Gunsmoke, Bonanza, Have Gun Will Travel, The Millionaire, among others until she relocated to England.
She spent the next twelve years of her life in England during which time she worked with on the set of The Saint. She was also cast in a major role in The Avengers (a British espionage television series created in 1961), as well as a few plays and musicals. She was soon on her way to Paris where she worked with Universal Studios in Le Scandale – otherwise known as Champagne Murders in the United States.
In 1974, the veteran actress jetted back to the US but took fewer TV roles and equally worked in the theatre. At this time motherhood roles were taking priority in her life. She later took her final bow from the stage and screens in 2017.

Suzanne Lloyd tasted the matrimonial waters twice. The first time was with Allan A. Buckhantz whom she married in 1953 but the marriage ended after a few years. She plunged in again in 1961 with Buddy Bregman and even though the marriage produced a lovely daughter, it ended in 1988. Suzanne’s only child is named Tracey E. Bregman and Tracey produced her grandchildren – Austin Recht and Landon Recht.
