Val Chmerkovskiy is a Ukrainian-American entertainer who is best known for his recurrent appearance in the show Dancing With The Stars which he won twice. Moreso, Val has also won the World Latin Dance Championship twice and has emerged as the winner of the Latin Dance Championship 14 times. Who Is Val Chmerkovskiy?
Val Chmerkovskiy was born on the 24th of March, 1986 in Odessa, a Ukrainian city formerly known as the Soviet Union to parents Aleksandr Chmerkovskiy and Larissa Chmerkovskiy. Val has an elder brother whose name is Maksim Chmerkovskiy he is also a professional dancer and has appeared on the Dancing With The Stars show.
During his childhood days, his family moved to Brooklyn, New York in the United States where his father had to initially work as a pizza delivery man. He did this job for a while amongst doing other menial jobs to raise money for the family but it was not for long as they came out of the financial crisis and soon set up a Youth-Oriented dance studio where Val Chmerkovskiy is said to have honed his skills.
Apart from being such an amazing dancer with his killer moves, Val was also academically sound as he excelled tremendously during his days at Hudson High School in Hoboken, New Jersey. However, he and his brother were faced with the challenge of bullying in school but he managed to graduate and join Pace University where he bagged a degree in Business Management.
Coming to his professional dancing career, Val Chmerkovskiy made his first appearance on the Dancing With The Stars show season 2 on February 10th, 2006. During the live show, Val was first a student of his older brother Max and then again appeared on the 4th season of the show where he starred against his brother. He eventually appeared on the Dancing With The Stars show a total of 28 seasons, with season 20 making his first win when he was paired with actress and singer Rumer Willis.
While working on his dancing career, Val was also treading the path of becoming an accomplished violinist which he is today.
